So I kind of forget if there were terms for this or something. (Found it Sentinel/Guides)

1)Basically all characters have animal guides. These guides represent their souls and give them a boost when used in tandem with them. When Error became a god his own guide had been chained by fate so he had to fight without his making people think he was soulless. One day his broke from their chains. It was surprising and now he had his Phoenix guide by his side again. The thing is though mythical creatures only appear when a being is a god making people actually ask questions about what his role was.

2)This multiverse there were two types that exists sentinel and guides. These pairs bond together to stabilize each other. I don't particularly mind making it so multiple sentinels bond with one guide. Guides are rare to find and need to match their sentinels in raw power to bond. Since guides are usually snatched up the moment they're found they usually end up going insane without a bond once they reach maturity.
(You don't have to make this an fgod scenario b/c error can be an insane unbound guide.)

The problem lays in the fact that when Error was a Sans his guide led him to inject himself with determination. This caused him to become Geno and his guide went dormant due to this. Becoming Error his guide slowly recovered from its fractured soul state. And once it awakened he went on a destruction spree in a rage. He blamed his guide for not being there for him and leading him to his current problems. Rejecting his own guide was driving him to become more insane than usual.

Both sides confronted him in his state and sensing he was a guide. One that was rejecting himself. It usually wasn't done like this but he was to dangerous and powerful not to mention un-killable. A forced bond can only work if there were multiple people doing it and only when a guide is to far gone in insanity.

'Whispers con-spiritually', it wasn't like there were any other guides powerful enough to hold the most dangerous beings in the multiverse. Sentinels usually become unstable without a guide for to long anyways. (I was going with Ink Dream Blue Nightmare at the very least)

It doesn't have to be sexual it's still a kind of mate bond, but its more of an emotional support and allows them to sense each other's emotions.
