Red is a arcanine because of his loyal to his boss dog attitude. Sci is a metang and Lust is a Serperior because every Sans has to be powerful and suited to their hobbies. Reaper is a Yveltal because it literally sucks the life out of other creatures as a death Pokémon and Life is Xerneas because it's the only Pokémon thats is Reaper's counterpart by having everlasting life. Geno is a dragapult because of his fierce personality and ability to survive death as something both dead and alive. Outer is a clefable because it's a moon stone Pokémon and can use gravity. Farmer is a Ludicolo because of raindance and plant growing abilities.
Sans is a Alakazam while never growing out of his abra sleeping habits. Papyrus is a riolu. Undyne is a gyarodos. Alphas is a ivysaur. Monster Kid is a Oshowatt. Toriel is a blissey. Asgore is a Pyroar. Flowey is a sunflora and with the human souls he is a tangela. As Azrial he is a ninetails and kid Asrial is a vulpix.
It's still the original multiverse just with Pokémon substituting the monsters and no pokeballs. Monsters/Pokémon are born taking the forms of whatever Pokémon best fit their soul self.
(Could even make it so that they can shape shift between forms as another idea.)
(I know I could have made Ink Arceus and Error Giritina, but I find the more chaotic nature of Mew and Mewtwo a better fit. Also I feel the main four Pokémon gods over reality themselves would make it difficult for the weaker ones to compete with.)
