A New Birth

Paperjam glared at the wall. Sometimes he wished he had never been reborn. To just get a chance to finally die and the thousands of years he had previously lived to be his final moments. But he had to get attached and found himself trying to put the pieces together of others like him. Gradient was an extremely broken person.

Previously in his past life Gradient was an Error that had been forced to destroy universes because some god was extremely irresponsible with teaching their own child self restraint. At least Paperjam had enjoyed doing his job as a god of destruction, Gradient had broken completely under it and Paperjam was trying to put him together. Gradient was systemically tortured by everyone and though Paperjam wouldn't say he hadn't been the number one enemy to his own multiverse he wouldn't take any shit from others.

He made sure his opposition feared him. The problem was he wasn't quite sure how to help the others suffering. That was only Gradient. There was also Palette who was a version of Dream who had eaten the golden apples, but had destroyed he multiverse because he destroyed the main balance between positivity and negativity. The guilt weighed heavily on that one, but he always kept a smile on his face.

Paperjam could barely stop this Dream as Palette from trying to atone by fighting their 'parents' when they get out of hand.
It didn't help when Spilled Ink was formed as he was also an Ink that had failed to understand the balance and was determined to not have it happen this time.

This multiverse was so broken with that weird rule where when powerful Magic's mix especially in battle there is a chance a child being born of those two magics. The parents usually dump the kid in the omega timeline as they didn't have time to raise them and had high responsibilities. Some of them were worried what would happen if the child stuck around for a reset.

It didn't help that the kids born of this already seemed to have all the basic knowledge they needed and weren't babies instead being young kids. Paperjam being the first and oldest quickly figured out those born like him have memories of their past life and come in many different multiverses. Rem was a Dream who died saving his own Nightmare from Ink wanting to permanently end his brother. Goth was a Death that had been betrayed by the sans council because they thought he was evil and didn't believe in the balances.

They all have a lot of screws loose. Bluescreen was a Blue that had died because he couldn't bring himself to continue living in an au where is brother was a borderline overprotective yandere and he was kept at home. His friends kept locking him away in his au because he kept rebelling against the fact the bad sans were evil.

Yeah Paperjam had to deal with all shorts of crazy reincarnated versions while making sure no one outside of the reincarnated knew what they were. At first it started with sympathy as Gradient was dropped at the same orphanage in the omega timeline he was. The guy crashed at the slightest touch, flinched at any sharp movements or sounds, and would fight off sleep as often as possible. Those nightmares were the main clues that he also remembered his past life and broke down more than once in Paperjam's arms.

Then more slowly came trickling in with their own problem and Paperjam got attached. Paperjam become more of a caretaker for them than the actual care taker when it came to dealing with their traumas and paranoia. The advantages of their past lives allowed them to still wield their abilities along with their new ones. Paperjam took his coding abilities and created a home or community for the magical accidents that kept being left in this place.

It was like a neighborhood where they can live without worry of others finding out and supporting each other. Paperjam didn't really have problems to work out like the rest mostly because he had been driven beyond his breaking point a long time ago when he was sealed away in the antivoid. He feared nothing and no trauma stuck with him. He did what he was made to do and enjoyed it.

Now that he was free from such responsibilities, he searched for other things to do. He didn't want to test what would happen if he died again. When Gradient came he found himself something better to do not out of selflessness, but his own way of caring for someone.

The child that was always born would always be a reincarnated person of one of the parents. Paperjam will admit to putting a few of them to death. Sometimes they are just to much of a lost cause. A reincarnated fatal error that couldn't think straight or a rabid Nightmare. He and his kept an eye out for the formation of each child. Paperjam wondered if he could hack the multiverse and get this problem fixed.

Reborn op characters aren't fun to fight especially when their a tiny child wielding their last lives abilities. Luckily most people think the intelligence and abilities of the child are passed down knowledge through the magic of the parents.

(Basically children are being born from mixed skeleton magic on the battlefield. These children carry memories from a past life in another multiverse and that past life is always one of their new 'parents'. Paperjam is an op god Error that enjoyed destruction, but was ready to retire before his death. Gradient is a broken Fgod Error. Palette is dreamswap Dream who had destroyed all negativity causing the multiverse to die. Spilled Ink was an Ink that had created to much causing the multiverse to die. REM was a dream that died during the apple incident saving Nightmare's life. Goth was Reaper who was thrown into the void because people couldn't believe someone like him was needed. Bluescreen was a Blue pushed to far by isolation and borderline yandere brother.)

(Their a tight knit group that turned into a community that kept a distance watch on the multiverse making sure it doesn't die. Paperjam was considered the leader even though he would strongly deny it. He just knew how to deal with insane people and had no problem with being painfully blunt towards others.)

(This idea hit me when I remembered I read a brief thing about Fgod error being reborn as Paperjam and thought what if all the ship kid were reborn from alternative versions of their parents. Dozens of Errors and Inks running around with no one the wiser as their just accidental ship kids.)
