⭐"I am allowed to move past the things and people that no longer make me feel like my best self"⭐
___

Several weeks have gone by since the firm's party. All the different departments quickly got back to their usual occupations.
And nothing extraordinary happened again in my life.

As always, I'm in my office cubicle with Matt. We're working on a file Gabriel entrusted us with earlier this week.
And, as usual, Matt is distracting me with his jokes.

Lexi: "You know Matt... Sometimes you should try working in silence..."

Matt: "Uh-huh... But that's something I can't do. My grandma's always said I was a chatterbox."

Lexi: "Your poor grandma... I feel sorry for her..."

Matt: "It's true that you're not as patient."

Lexi: "Yeah. And watch out, because if you don't finish this image before tonight, I swear I'll make you regret it!..."

Matt: "Hmm... it's a nice idea, you and me alone after dark in the half-light of the empty offices... The thrill of what's forbidden..."

Lexi: "You should ask Cassidy, I'm sure she'd be up for it."

Matt: "Why not... But, on second thoughts... No. I'd be too frightened off suffocating to death."

I can't help but burst out laughing. Cassidy is very well developed. Compliments to the beauty surgeon.
Matt makes an exaggerated sad face.

Matt: "You're so tough with me!..."

I frown, giving him a dirty look.

Matt: "Ok, ok... So, let's see... this image..."

I hear him burst out laughing, from behind his computer screen, like every time I look at him sternly.
I sigh gently, shaking my head.
That's what my daily life is about with Matt. The good thing is that my days at the office aren't boring...

...

I meet Lisa at one of our favorite Italian restaurants, not far from work.

Lisa: "Yikes! I had my work cut out for me this morning! I'm exhausted!"

Lisa works at the reception desk. Sometimes I wonder how she manages to deal with the constant flow of visitors all day long.

Lexi: "Look at the good side of things, at least you don't have to put up with a disruptive troublemaker all day long..."

Lisa bursts out laughing.

Lisa: "We each have our dimwits. You have Matt, I have Lydie... Having said this, your dimwit is much sweeter than mine!"

It's true... Even if Matt is sometimes unbearable, I'd have trouble imagining working without him. Lydie, on the other hand, is the firm's little miss gossip.

Lexi: "Do you still go to your pole dancing class?"

Lisa: "Yes! It's my refuge! I need to let my hair down a little with all those men in suits and ties that I have to greet!"

Lexi: "Imagine if you told Lydie that you dance on a pole!"

Lisa: "Oh, no way! Can you imagine the rumor?!"

Lexi: "Yeah, I can see it from here!"

I put on Lydie's facial expression, imitating her voice.

Lexi: "Did you know that Lisa, the secretary at the reception has difficulty paying her bills?... I heard that she pole dances in bars to make ends meet..."
