"There will be no strings to bind your hands, not if my love can't bind your heart"

"Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby"

"Just call me Angel of the morning, Angel, then slowly turn away from me"

Jimin was right, after the police arrived you'd had a very long morning. Several detectives asked you the same questions but different ways, so many times that by the end you felt like the guilty party. You'd glossed over the details about Irene tormenting you with Jjille's death. Instead you stuck to the facts, it just seemed like they didn't believe you.

"Make sure you ask the head of security why their cameras weren't recording. Taemin bribed them to turn it off. How would I know that if I was lying?" Frustration creased your voice mixed with exhaustion.

"Miss Y/N, no one is saying you're lying. We're trying to build a solid case against them. Tell us about the bar again."

Jimin had called your parents who'd decided to return later in the evening to not interrupt the police. He'd stayed in the room, off to the side, bringing you water or stepping in when you got upset.

"She's told you three times to check the aspirin bottle in her medicine cabinet. Can you pull prints? She's never borrowed my car before, she doesn't even drive manual transmission. How could she have driven it sixteen miles from our apartment building?" Jimin was always calm, but firm with them.

After a couple hours they all seemed to agree they had enough evidence to arrest Irene and Taemin for attempted murder. They left their cards and promised to update you when they had more information. You could have cried in relief, but the feeling didn't last long.

"I should go too and let you rest." Jimin stood from the chair he'd claimed again and you swallowed hard.

"I'd rather get all of this out of the way." Did you really though? Did you want to hear him lie or scramble to justify himself?

"There's plenty of time for us to talk about this when you're well Angel."

"Did you call Jjille Angel?" You steadied yourself, first shots fired, Jimin sat again sighing. His eyes had darkened, as if closing down. You recognized the behavior instantly, so you were surprised when he answered.

"I didn't. I called her Jji or Yaebo. Sometimes I called her pumpkin if she was acting particularly adorable." His smile was sad.

You took a deep breath and told him everything Irene told you. He didn't interrupt, and the farther into things you got the less anger you felt. As you finished you looked at his face, you were left wrung out, empty. When Jimin took your hand you let him, you just weren't sure you were ready to hear what he was going to say.
