6: Well, well, if it wasn't Trina

Trina?

Why the hell did Trina Davis who'd always sat with her best friend, Mila Andrews for as long as I could remember, suddenly decide to take the empty seat next to Jason?

Wait a sec, can my actions be classified as borderline stalking? No, of course not; I'd only been staring at him for the past two minutes – totally normal.

Now, to the more pressing matter at hand – why was he smiling when Trina turned to him?

The tiny voice of reason in my head told me it was probably because she smiled at him first, and so, he was simply reciprocating the gesture. Yet, I didn’t feel any better.

It's been two days since I rejected Hawk's offer, more like Hawk's absurd offer. And I would be lying if I said I never thought of what would have happened if I'd accepted it instead.

Let's just say my plan to get back with Jason wasn't going as smoothly as I'd thought it would – especially with him being all serious whenever we were together. Yesterday, we were on the same dodgeball team in PE, and it was awkward to say the least.

Although we interacted with small hi's and smiles, it wasn't quite the same.

Ok, who was I kidding? It wasn't the same at all! Jason was really taking this break up thing seriously. In the past, this was the time when he'd be taking initiatives to try to get back together. But now?

This was bad – really bad. And now, I was certain it was about to get worse. Because heading straight to the seat beside mine, was none other than Amy Walker.

Amy Walker – the one girl who didn't belong to any clique, but yet found her way into every single one. And for one reason: she couldn't keep from talking! The girl was totally obsessed with gossip. If she wasn't trying to extract gossip from people, then she was the one doing the telling.

If there was any school gossip which Amy didn't know, then I was certain no one in the school knew it.

“Hi, Brooke,” she greeted chirpily, smiling as she settled herself beside me. god, why were none of my friends taking this class?

“Hey, Amy.” I even managed to add a small smile of my own.

If it were anyone else, they'd have been content with that reply and stopped from saying anything more. Although she did keep quiet, I knew it wouldn't be long before she broke.

Five.

Four.

Three.

Two.

One.

“So, Brooke,” she started. In her defense, she lasted longer than the last time.

I turned to stare at her smiling face. I knew that smile all too well already. “You know, I think it’s really cool how your relationship with Jason works. Once you break up, it's like you guys don't even care about what each other are doing.”

Just get to the point.

But what came out of my mouth was: “what that's supposed to mean?”

“Well,” she drawled, a clear sign that she wanted to pique my interest for whatever she wanted to say next. So, knowing this, I turned my attention to my phone, not sparing her a glance. The last thing I needed was to make Amy think I was interested in her little games.

“I think it’s great that Jason and Trina Davis seem to be getting closer, given that they're partners in Art class and all. But honestly, if I were in your place, I'd be a bit jealous.
