It felt like she hadn't been asleep more than 10 minutes before she was waking up. Lacey frowned as she heard Jay yelling at someone downstairs. She lay still for a minute, wondering if she should even get up or act like she was still sleeping. It was rare that he wasn't waking her up out of her sleep for one thing or another. As his voice grew louder, Lacey couldn't help but wonder what was going on. She pushed all of the covers away from her body before sitting up and stretching. Lacey sighed before pushing her feet into her slides and heading down the back stairs to go through the game room. The house was cool but she could tell by the heat coming off the windows from the sunlight that today would be a typically hot LA day. She smiled weakly to see Justice and Cali in the game room but frowned to see the tv not on.

"What's going on?" Lacey asked, sitting in an empty chair and scratching at her scalp.

"Momma and Daddy arguing," Cali answered.

Lacey closed her mouth but her back went up straight. She tried to hear what they were arguing about but decided to stay in the room with the kids. From her understanding, they only talked about the kids so if the argument had anything to do with them it was none of Lacey's business. Lacey had only interacted with Tiffany a handful of times since she and Jay had been together and Lacey was very cautious not to overstep any boundaries.

It has been a few weeks since the funeral and Jay's grief was on the angry side. He was snapping at everyone. Engineers in the studio, Lacey, his team, his family, anybody. Lacey or the kids could usually get him to calm down, but the last couple of days seemed to be the worst. Lacey was planning on going home after work today to give them both some space whether he liked it or not.

"You have a woman," Lacey heard Tiffany say. "Why is my company suddenly an issue?"

"Is this nigga around my kids?" Jay asked, ignoring Tiffany's question. Lacey frowned.

"Jayceon, get out of my face....King Justin and California Dream...let's go!

They both stood up and hugged Lacey goodbye. She helped Cali secure her backpack before they took off out of the room. Lacey waited a minute before following them into the kitchen. Tiffany saw her as she was walking out of the door and she smirked.

"Worried about me," she said.

"We ain't done with this conversation!" Jay yelled but Tiffany ignored him. Lacey, however, didn't like his tone.

"Baby," she said in a warning tone. He frowned and looked at her as she pointed to the kids.

"Bye Daddy," Cali said, hugging his waist. He kissed all over her forehead and she giggled before running out of the door. Jay hugged Justice before he did the same.

"You know they heard you right?" Lacey asked, crossing her arms under her breasts once the kitchen door was closed. "So did I."

"Your point?" he asked, walking over the fridge. Lacey raised an eyebrow before chuckling.
