Moving On

Shin: Sis, let's go! Shopping tayo. Ang tagal mo na hindi lumapit ng mall. Tuloy po ang buhay.
Sarah (looked at her best friend): Ako po ay may sinusuportahan na pamilya. Kailangan ko mamaintain ang scholarship ko. Buti Ikaw kasi rich so you don't have any problem with money. Sayang naman ang savings ko if gagastusin ko lang.
Shin: Hay naku. It's for you din naman. 6months na sis. Matt came by for the nth time asking for forgiveness, ayaw mo naman bigyan ng second chance. Tingnan mo naman hitsura mo... Para ka ng lalaki. Walang kaarte arte sa katawan when was the last time you had your haircut?
Sarah: Ano naman masama sa hitsura ko? 6months na yong sa amin ni Matt. I don't think I can trust him again. Sobra akong nasaktan sa ginawa niya. So I guess useless if I talk to him pa na alam ko may galit pa sa puso ko.
Shin: I'm just saying na baka over react ka lang sa situation. But don't get me wrong I'm not taking his side, parang ayaw ko lang na mabale wala ang ilang taon na mag kasama kayo.
Sarah (paused for a second): Ewan ko sis. Basta once I turn my back on something ayaw ko ng balikan.
Shin: Ok ok. I won't push na pero sama ka na lang sa akin sa parlor. Libre kita. Complete makeover! (Smiles)
Sarah: Sige na nga. Ang kulit mo kasi! (laughs)
Shin: That's more like it. Namiss ko ang tawa mo.

Ivan: Bro, get up! It's already 12 noon. Wala ka bang balak gumalaw dyan?
Matt (placed his head under a pillow): Leave me alone bro! It's Saturday!
Ivan (pulls his leg): Are you drunk again last night? Nakita ko ang mga bote ng beer at brandy sa kitchen mo.
Matt (sat up and obviously annoyed): Ano ba ang paki mo? Tatay ba kita?! Besides I don't have classes today.
Ivan: Concerned lang ako Bro. Lahat ng barkada worried na sa yo. Don't throw your life away man. Kung sa bandang huli kayo ni Sarah nakatadhana for each other, it will happen. Just don't lose yourself. Maybe pag maayos mo na ang sarili mo everything will fall into place.
Matt (crying): I have never loved someone like I love her. She is my life and just one stupid mistake biglang nawala. I don't know.... May be this is just a test. I tried to reach her several times pero mukhang sarado na ang isip at puso niya.
Ivan: Just have faith.... Remember everything happens for a reason. Maligo ka na at magbihis pasyal tayo sa mall. Nandun na ang barkada. We will meet up for coffee dun ka na maglunch.

Shin: Sars, ang taray! Bagay sa yo ang Halle Berry look. Ang ganda mo!
Sarah (laughs): Hindi ba nasobrahan sa iksi? Gusto ko kasi maalis ang lahat ng alaala ng nakaraan so dapat maraming buhok ang matanggal.
Hairdresser: Girl, kung sino man ang nagwasak ng puso mo... He's gonna eat his heart out. Magsisisi yun.
Sarah (laughs): Kayo naman ang OA naman. Umiksi lang ang buhok ko no tapos nilagyan mo lang ng konting make up.
Shin: Sis, trust us. You look fabulous. Tara ibibili kita ng dress. Advance birthday gift kahit June pa lang ngayon at next month pa birthday mo (laughs).

Sarah looked at herself in the mirror. She fitted perfectly in the off white slightly above the knee sundress. She must admit she looked great with her short hair and looked at her reflection with a slight smile but noticed sadness still in her eyes. I miss him, she thought.
Shin: Wow! That dress looks great on you. Yan na yon. It fits you perfectly. Ilakad mo ng konti dito sa labas.
Sarah walked outside the fitting room and gave a twirl. She saw someone at the corner of her eye and rushed back in the fitting room.
Matt's POV
Si Sarah ba yon? I thought I saw a girl who looks like her but with very short hair.
Ivan: Wala naman yata si Stefano at Claudia dito. He told me that Claudia is shopping for clothes. Hey Matt! What is it? (Nudged Matt while he was looking into the fitting rooms direction) Did you see them?
Matt: I thought I saw someone... Wait di ba si Shin yon? Sarah's best friend.
Ivan: So? Hindi naman sila parati magkadikit ni Sarah. Baka she's shopping din. Cmon let's look for them or better yet maghintay na lang tayo sa Starbucks.
Matt: I just thought for a minute I saw Sarah. (Looked hopeful)
Ivan: Tara na! Besides kung si Sarah man yun... Do you think haharapin ka niya? tapos bro punta tayo sa barber shop. You need to clean up (laughs)
Matt (shrugged): I guess you're right. I just miss her. Let's go.

Shin: Sis, nakaalis na! Ang bilis mo naman magtago. (Laughs)
Sarah: Buti na lang hindi lumapit. I still can't face him. Pumayat siya no? At humaba ang buhok at d yata nagshave.
Shin: Hay naku... For someone who says ayaw ng balikan mukhang may concern ka pa rin. Tara na bayaran na natin ang dress na yan.
Sarah looked towards where Matt was standing minutes before. I still love him.... But how can I trust him again? She absentmindedly turned towards the cashier and accidentally bumped into someone.
Boy: Oops! Sorry, I wasn't looking. Oh... You're Sarah right?
Sarah (questioning look to a handsome young man): Do I know you?
Boy: You don't remember me? It's Sam.... Sam Mondragon (Sam Milby look-alike 😉) We met once in a party in Cebu. Your cousin Klarisse introduced us during her birthday. Nandito ka na ba sa Manila?
Sarah: Oo nga pala. Ikaw yong friend ng boyfriend ni Klang. Ang tagal na nun 2 years na yata and you still remember me?
Sam (laughs): Oo naman. I never forget a pretty face with cute dimples (smiles). You look great in short hair.
Shin: Ahem! I'm Shin, by the way, Rachelle Chua, Sarah's friend (extended her hand as she approached them after paying for the clothes)
Sam: Oh hi! Sam Mondragon. I'm shopping for a present for my sister (explains as Shin looks at the blouse he's holding). You guys want to go with me for coffee I would really love some company. Kanina pa ako umiikot ng mag-isa.
Shin: Sure! We have all the free time (smiles widely as Sarah shot her a warning look)
Sarah: Baka makaabala pa kami sa yo. We will go ahead na lang.
Sam: No I insist. Please. We can drink coffee and talk. Do you study here now in Manila?
Sarah: Yes. Nasa UP law.
Sam: Wow! Hats off! Wait I have to pay this first. Sandali lang ha. (Went to the cashier)

Shin: Hmmmm.... May potential. He's cute... pang heartthrob (laughs as Sarah pinches her side lightly)
Sarah: Ikaw talaga! (Smiles shyly... He's cute she thought)

Will this be a step to moving on? Meeting someone new?
Wait.... Di ba nagcoffee din sila ni Matt? Magkita kaya sila?
