Author's POV

After receiving the invitation for dinner, the three went downstairs to avoid keeping the Min's from waiting. When they arrived at the dining area, Mrs. Min stood up and approached Seoyeon.

"Come, dear. I prepared my specialty and I can't wait for you to try it. Do you eat lamb meat?" Mrs. Min asked as she usher Seoyeon to her seat.

"Yes, ma'am." She replied while sitting down, a little overwhelmed with the treatment she's getting from the woman.

"Good! Here, let me put some on your plate." She insisted, while Seoyeon just let her do it since she looks so happy. "Namjoon, take your seats." She gestured to the seat beside Seoyeon, so Namjoon went there while Hwayoung sat on the other side of Seoyeon.

"Eomma, you're scaring her." Yoongi uttered, noticing the uneasiness in Seoyeon's face.

"Am I?" The woman looked at Seoyeon with concern, "I'm so sorry, dear. I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's okay, ma'am. It's just that I'm not used to this." She chuckled nervously.

"I see. Just tell me if you want anything else, okay?" Mrs. Min smiled and fondled Seoyeon's head for a moment before going to her seat. "By the way, where is your father, Yoongi? I thought you called him already." She asked to her son as she place the table napkin on her lap.

"I did. He's on a serious phone call with someone. Business matter, I guess." Yoongi shrugged, "Guess he's done with it." He mentioned when he saw his father walking towards them.

"I'm sorry to keep you all waiting. I see we have a new guest." He commented as he walks over to his wife to give her a kiss.

Seoyeon and Namjoon stood up and bowed their heads as a greeting. His eyes landed to Namjoon first.

"Good evening, Appa. I hope you don't mind us joining your dinner." Namjoon smiled as he stood up.

"Stop being so formal, Namjoon-ah." The man chuckled and then faced Seoyeon, but his smile slowly dropped.

"Good evening, Mr. Min. I'm Park Seoyeon, Mr. Kim's secretary." She introduced and smiled at the man, who is just stuck staring at her.

Mrs. Min held the hand of her husband and gave him a smile when he looked down to his wife. Seeing his expression, it made Seoyeon nervous. Is he mad to see her? Did he think this is a disgraceful thing?

"How old are you, Seoyeon-ssi?" Mr. Min asked, similar to what Mrs. Min asked a while ago.

"Darling, she's 25 years old. Just like Sunmi." Mrs. Min answered in Seoyeon's behalf.

"Is that true?" The man asked, and Seoyeon nodded as she tries to smile. "May I know if you have siblings?" He asked further.

"Uhm.... I'm the only child of my parents." She answered, completely confused with their actions.

"Appa, stop this. You're making her uncomfortable. You and Eomma." Yoongi warned, trying to stop whatever is running through his parent's mind. "Sunmi is already dead, let's not disrespect her and my sister. Just eat, please." He said sternly before looking at Seoyeon with much embarrassment for what his parents are doing. "Please, Seoyeon, help yourself. I apologize for that."

"It's alright, Yoongi-ssi." She just smiled, then faced Mr. Min and gave him another bow before sitting down.

Under the table, Namjoon reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze. "Are you okay?" He whispered low-key, but Seoyeon just squeezed his hand back to assure him before they let go.

They began to eat dinner, but a deafening silence surrounded them, that only the clashing of the spoons and for against the plate is heard. The two elderly couldn't help but look at Seoyeon as she eats. They felt a sudden longing for their youngest daughter. They weren't able to see her after being brought to the nursery, just to know she didn't survive. All they received was her ashes in a small marbled urn and her clothes that had her initials embroidered on it. But seeing Seoyeon, it felt as if they are seeing their Sunmi right now as a grown-up.
