I hear stumbling in the hallway outside my bedroom. I go to check it out. It's probably not a good idea, it could be an intruder. Nonetheless, it's 2am, and I'm half asleep and not thinking properly. I open my bedroom door and thankfully, it's Ileana.

She just got home and of course, she's drunk.

"Hey, Hailey," she says before giggling.

"Hey, you alright?"

"Yeah, why?" She can't even stand properly.

"It's 2am."

"Oops."

She giggles again.

I put my arm around her.

"Come on, let's get you to bed."

"Ian is so cool," she slurs.

"Oh, is he?" I say, not really caring about the conversation.

"He rides a motorcycle, he travels a lot, he's always either throwing a party or being invited to one, he has so many connections with so many people! He has no cares or worries, and he's amazing in bed," she drones on.

"Cool."

"Oh, it's okay Hails, I'm sure you'll get some as soon as you stop being such a stick in the mud."

I ignore the insult and ask,

"Where did you guys go?"

"A rave," she replies dreamily as I place her on her bed.

"A rave? Did you take anything?"

She giggles.

"Yes."

"What did you take?" I ask.

My level of concern is starting to rise.

"I don't know."

She's starting to pass out. I don't know if I should call an ambulance or just let her sleep it off and hope for the best. She'll be safe in her room, but idk what she's taken or how much. I decide to go back to sleep but check on her periodically throughout the night. I only have a few hours until I have to say goodbye to Adam at the airport.

I wake up to my alarm blaring, and I check my phone.

"Good morning :) I can't wait to see you today," a text from Adam reads.

"Good morning :) I'll be there soon."

I smile at the messages and let the feeling of comfort come over me. My warm, fuzzy feelings are interrupted by the putrid sounds of vomiting.

I go into the bathroom across the hall, and there she is, a hungover Illy.

"Good morning, sunshine," I muse.

She groans and flips me off. I roll my eyes.

"I'm about to get ready, then I'll be gone for a bit."

"Where?" she manages to ask between retches.

"Airport. Adam's going home and I'm saying goodbye."

She looks up at me, weakly.

"Things are going well?" she asks.

"We're just friends, but we did kiss at the party."

She smiles a little.

"So what's going to happen now that he's leaving?"

"We'll stay in contact, maybe visit every now and then," I explain.

"Long distance boyfriend?"

"Long distance friend," I correct her.

"Hm, probably better that way. Men always cheat in an LDR."

I don't know why, but that made me sad.

"I'm gonna go get ready," I say quietly.

She retches one more time before I leave the bathroom.
