Several days had passed, everyone in (m/n)’s class had just received their marks from their current quiz. Some celebrated that they passed, some didn’t. (m/n) was the latter. He didn’t mind what he got, since he always managed to get decent scores.
“I passed... holy shit I passed...” Rei said as he looked at his score, teas flowing out of his eyes like a waterfall, “I'd like to thank my mom and dad and also my wonderful teacher who-"
“Shut up will you? Shouldn’t the person who got the highest score in the year be the one to give out a speech?” (m/n) asked.
“You shut up! You always pretty decent marks unlike me... an average person...” Rei dramatically sobbed.
“You’re not even close to being average. It’s because I study that’s why.” (m/n) rolled his eyes and handed his quiz back to his teacher.
Rei eyed (m/n) as he turned to face the window, staring blankly at whatever he was staring at. He’s been doing that for the past few days. Rei thought as he sighed and handed his paper back to the teacher.
“You ok man?” He asked, facing (m/n).
(M/n) stared down at his desk, his (e/c) hues reflecting mixed emotions, showing the conflict that had been disturbing him for some time.
“I dunno...” he said, “the volleyball club invited me to this training camp at Tokyo... and even gave me a club application.”
“But you don’t know if you want to go or even join the club?” Rei finished and earned a nod as answer. “Well... its not like they forced you. I suggest you do go, maybe it'll be good for you, maybe even different. I saw how you looked when you hit that spike, you looked like you were having so much fun and that’s something I hardly ever see from you anymore.”
(M/n) raised his head earning a flick to his forehead from his best friend making him flinch and rub his forehead.
“I want to see that again, you’re always so gloomy, sometimes, I can’t tell if you’re alive or dead.” Rei chuckled, “I’m sure things will be different, (m/n). But it’s still up to you. Also, if you do end up going, buy me a souvenir.”
(M/n) let out a chuckle as he responded with a, “maybe.”
The bell rang and the two boys stood up, ready to leave the class as the teacher rambled on about homework and when it was due, of course, they didn’t pay attention and walked out of the class with the other students.
