Chapter 171: Tactical Retreat III

In that sudden moment in just a single swing of the sycthe, Akito himself then suddenly spurt out a huge mouthful of blood as his whole front suddenly got slashed by Asmodeus counter spell

Not only that but even his own sword was cut clean in half as if it was just like cutting a soft paper

Seeing his sword break in half upon that counter spell and his whole front suddenly spurt out a huge wound which seemingly came out of nowhere, Akito then slowly backed away slowly in a few steps as he coughed out blood as he kneeled on both knees

Upon witnessing his pathetic state, Asmodeus then quickly adjusted his form as he somehow felt amused at the sight of Akito's shocked expression, this when he still saw the latter was confused on how he got injured at that moment despite not receiving any for a couple of minutes ago, Asmodeus then couldn't help but entertain him

"Surprised? You should be! After all this attack is unblockable, thus it isn't strange at all if your sword got sliced in half upon trying to parry it with your skills"

"But don't be dismayed, your not the only one who got done in by this attack, in fact I've also fought agaisnt two people a few minutes ago... one is a female mage, while the other seemed to be a combat summoner, nevertheless despite showing prowess in fighting am opponent stronger than them, they were still done in by this counter spell of mine, in the end both of them are at the brink of death"

Upon hearing the description of the two people that Asmodeus had fought a few minutes ago, Akito then suddenly thought up of both Shun and Sephiria whom he hadn't seen in this place at all, which was quite weird considering that a major event was happening in this place

Plus putting Sephiria aside, he can vouch for Shun's strength, after all he did became the champion in the tournament of the six academies and became the sole remaining person in the battle Royale representing each academy

Since he became a champion in that event, despite facing an opponent which could literally nuke the whole place, he then heralded Shun as someone who wouldn't go down that easily in terms of fighting a person

But this time such a person declared that he took out that very champion himself, and adding to the fact that Shun still hadn't gone to this place despite the sudden power spike in the area which caused a huge commotion to erupt, he can only conclude that the person right infront of him might have disposed of Shun even before getting to this place

Reaching up to that conclusion, Akito couldn't accept such a result as he grit his teeth and tried to force his wounds to close up by tensing his muscles, unfortunately his struggle didn't become unnoticed as Asmodeus suddenly made fun of him upon seeing his attempt to get up

"Are you still trying to resist now? You should know that your already defeated at this point! There is no going back from that injury... your just as good as a dead person"

As Asmodeus were making fun of the struggling Akito himself, Captain Kalego on the other hand slowly crept his way forward as he somehow luckily was able to take cover in time when the attack has been swung

In fact just as Asmodeus swings his sycthe to completely decimate the whole 2 kilometer of the castle's front yard, Captain Kalego himself had somehow anticipated such a terrifying attack as he somehow aimed all of his cannon right below his feet and fired them to propel himself above the ground

Just as he got propelled upwards, the slash from the sycthe somehow bypassed his previous location, causing him to somehow realize the meaning to his instinctive movement

Of course due to that attack, his opponent Adelfried himself was naturally caught up by the slash, but since both his opponent and the person responsible for the attack were allies, he somehow had the feeling that the former would have ways to deal with such an attack

After that slash, he couldn't help but look over at Akito's direction only to see the person himself completely wounded across his body just from that single swing

In that moment he even saw Akito himself kneeled on his knees as blood flowed down on his wound, making Captain Kalego himself to come into the conclusion that he had lost

Since he had lost, Captain Kalego has no way at all to deal with two troublesome opponents on his own, forcing him to accept that his side had truly lost this battle and all he could do now was to regroup with everyone that had survived the attack and plan to counter attack, in other words he then decided to enact a tactical retreat upon seeing the disadvantageous situation

With that in mind he slowly and silently walk his way over towards Akito upon landing unto the ground as he plans to pull him out of harms way, but by the time he got close enough to retrieve him, he suddenly heard Asmodeus himself mocking the person's effort to stand back up

Upon hearing such an eerie laugh and mocking tone of voice, Captain Kalego couldn't help but react badly at such an attitude as this truly sully one's pride as a warrior himself

Readying his gun on his chest as he leaned backwards on his cover as prepare to make a getaway, he then suddenly heard a sudden footsteps right among the rubble in front of him as Adelfried suddenly appeared put of nowhere and slashed down his Sickle towards him

"Where do you think your going?!?!"

Seeing this assault, Captain Kalego immediately made adjustments to his positions he rolled to the side just in time to dodge Adelfried's attack and took out another Magic Gun from his space pocket and aimed his two guns towards Adelfried and Asmldeus in unison

Of course during this time Asmodeus himself was still indulging his victory over Akito causing him to react late on the commotion happening near him and realized that Captain Kalego himself aimed both of his guns towards both him and his partner in crime

Without any words given at all, Captain Kalego powered up his magic gun with his own huge amount of mana and fired both of them right between their eyebrows

Upon hearing the firing blast from Captain Kalego's gun, Adelfried himself quickly used his sickle to block the attack as he twisted his body to a certain degree to quickly move his arms at an incredible pace, on the other hand Asmodeus himself got completely shot in the head as he flew backwards and crash unto the ground

But not long after that shot, Asmodeus slowly got up from his spot as he tub his forehead as the gun wound on it slowly disappears into nothingness, seemingly due to his weapons unique trait

Seeing the wound on his targets head slowly heals, Caltain Kalego couldn't help but click his tongue as he realized just how troublesome in the sycthe really is

"Looks like I'll have to get rid of the sycthe first before killing you"

As he muttered this under his breath in which only he can hear, he then swept Akito under his arm as he released a blinding light into the air and make his escape like a flashbang

In that next moment, everything went silent as both Captain Kalego and Akito disappeared from that place, leaving both Asmodeus and Adelfried to bask on their victory
