Chapter 176: The Day

[Kingdom of Avalon]

Located at the outskirts of the kingdom on the north, quite far from the walls of the capital, an exact amount of 500 soldiers and 30 elite units of the kingdom are gathered on the spot for the subjugation of the Diabolos cult which is believed to have at least 300 members an d 8 high ranking officers.

Alongside the numerous number of soldiers being gathered, some third party people are also attending the gathering which is specifically both Akito and Shun who wants to have a rematch of its own against some of the people in the cult. Of course this individual movement and decision of the two to join the operation was approved by the very king of the Holsteia Kingdom.

With such an attack which literally knocked over the royalty of the Holsteia into an embarrassment, King Hendrick himself appointed both Shun and Akito to join the operation under the banner of the Kingdom. Naturally Crown Prince Cedric wanted to join the operation too, but due to his current disposition which made him unable to even cast a proper spell, he was then further advised by his father to stay put and heal his wounds. 

Even Sephiria wanted to join the operation, since she believed that she would be a great aid to Shun when fighting the enemies, unfortunately for her despite being more loose on Shun, Duke Alex couldn't afford to see her daughter being beat up once more. Thus with the pleading of both Duke Alex and his wife Cecile for Sephiria to stay, Sephiria herself then couldn't resist as she listened to her parents plea.

Of course despite being loose on Shun, that didn't mean that the duke and his wife never cared for Shun's safety at all. In fact they were also hesitant to grant his wish to join the operation, but upon seeing the determined look on his eyes, they then couldn't help but to give in.

With a few words of Advice to Shun, they then let him go

"Be careful out there Shun!" said Sephiria

"Whoa! Well did i hear that right? are you actually worried for my safety? last time i see I'm more battle oriented than you" teased Shun

"Ha! Last time i remember I'm the one who protected your butt from getting done in" retorted Sephiria

"Correction! I took a hit for you!" said Shun

"And i protected you!" said Sephiria

"But you still got done in!" said Shun with a smile

Upon hearing that Sephiria just simply smiled as she took ahold of Shun's hand and said in a worried tone

"No! I'm serious! You better be careful out there"

"Yeah! Yeah!"

At that moment Duke Alex coughed roughly to break off the atmosphere between Shun and Sephiria as he couldn't help to see his daughter just flirt with Shun. Truth be told he is still having a hard time accepting the fact the Shun courted his daughter, his only daughter at that.

At the beginning he learnt of Shun existence due to him being recommended by his acquainted noble in Ruric Town, after that recommendation, he then took him in to serve as a helper and tutor for his daughter. But who knew that by then due to their interaction, both of them would a have developed a certain feeling towards each other

Everything was happening so fast, thus he was caught off guard the moment he learned of their current relationship.

As Shun left the duke family to join the operation, the person himself coincidentally met up with Akito who just bid his absence to Iris, and upon seeing Iris expression, Shun couldn't help but comment on that too.

"Looks like she cares so much about you, aren't you going to back out?"

"Why would i back out? Didn't i already showed you my resolve to join this operation?" asks Akito

"Yes you did! but I'm just saying, after all who knows... maybe you had a second thought about it" said Shun

"Don't worry about that! I've already firmed my decision beforehand" said Akito

"With a broken sword? hate to say this you, but with a broken sword like that, you would just be a burden you know" said Shun

"Didn't i already told you not to underestimate a broken sword? as long as the sword has a blade which can kill, it is already enough" replied Akito

"Yes! its enough, but not efficient" retorted Shun

At that Akito turned towards him and said

"So what do you want me to do? back out just because i have a broken sword? back out just because someone said i would be a burden?"

"Nope! i was just wondering if maybe you would want to acquire another weapon" answered Shun

"Another weapon?" asks Akito

At that moment Shun took out the re-forged Storm razor from his dimensional storage and handed it to Akito, who is clearly surprised to see a sword being hand out to him.

"A samurai sword? Where did you..."

Before Akito could even finish his words, Shun then immediately answered

"Trade secret"

Upon realizing that Shun wouldn't easily reveal the origin of the sword, he just simply thanked him for such a sword and headed out together with him

As everyone was gathering around, Captain Kalego then took a stand right in front of everyone as he took all of their attention towards him and began speaking about the operation that will be conducted

"Attention! Everyone of you are gathered here under the pretext of subjugation of the cult which was ordered by the royal family of the kingdom, the reason why we plan to launch our counter attack is all because the cult that had attacked the kingdom had actually stole the national treasure that our kingdom was proud off in the midst of confusion"

"Not only that we also learned that the cult itself had actually tried to target the lives of the royal family! which is nothing but an inexcusable act! Due to their attack many of our comrade and acquaintance were dead... the people we've lost, are all because of their fault, thus we plan to enact a counter attack towards this cult to fully exterminate such a threat to our kingdom"

"Under such pretext... will you join me?"

As Captain Kalego said those words, numerous people were shouting out a warcry as many of them lost someone dearly during the attack, sparking up such spirit, the whole army then began to march towards the direction of the cult.
