[Outskirts of the Kingdom of Avalon]
Located at the outskirts of the Kingdom of Avalon at the very forested area near the border walls of the country, the whole army of the Kingdom are currently marching forward towards the suspected abandoned mine near the border walls. After all based on some informants and some chasers that were sent ahead of time, a suspicious group of people were gathering at such place and were somehow preparing something big for some major operation.
Taking that slight hint of whereabouts of the culprit cult, the whole kingdom itself marched their forces passing through open area, wide rivers, across towns, rocky pathways, and forested scenery. Of course they still stayed vigilant towards such information, after all such an information could lead them into a trap, thus causing the tension among the army.
Despite that some parts of the army, there are people who are spending their time talking to the person next to them to lift the tense atmosphere. Due to such an action which would somehow calm the soldiers at hand, Captain Kalego and the general of the army themselves would allow such interactions to stabilize the morale of their men.
Among the leading people who were the cause of this light-hearted atmosphere was Merlin himself as if he is seemingly able to get along with anyone of different age and sizes. Of course Shun himself wouldn't get done in as he started to talking to Akito, Mordred, Lionel, and Diva.
"Hey! I heard both of you got done in by some bigshot in the cult, tell me... just how strong is the enemy? does the enemy has some kind of weird hobby that it applies in its battle prowess? what kind of weapon did the enemy use?" asks Mordred seemingly envious to the fact that both Shun and Akito had fought some strong opponents despite being defeated
"Well all i can say is that he's pretty strong and has a scythe for a weapon, he can also use magic... but for the hobbies, I'm not really sure" answered Shun
"As for me... i couldn't really tell, after all i was so focused on bringing the enemy down to the point that i disregard anything else around me" answered Akito
"What kind of answer is that?!?! Disregarding everything else? isn't that dangerous? after all you need extreme focus to your surroundings if you want to win a battle" complained Mordred
In that moment Lionel Interjected.
"I think he means that he was in the zone"
"Zone?" asks both Diva and Mordred in unison
"Its kind of a state of a person wherein he is solely focused on a particular object that one could describe as an exhilarating feeling" replied Lionel
"That's what i don't understand, that kind of thing is dangerous right? what if a some kind of ambush happened? because your solely focused on one particular target, such a person would be prone to any surprise tactic, resulting to imminent death" said Mordred
"Not quite! after all if a person is in a zone, all of his senses would be heightened to an extreme degree, thus the moment a person enters such state of mind, such tactics such as underhanded means would be useless" explained Lionel
"What the heck? isn't that kind of amazing? How do you know so much?" asks Mordred
"I'm a warrior girl, people who are in a battle and is in the face of death in such heightened moment would always undergo such development... it would feel as if time had slowed down for some unknown reason" said Lionel
Upon hearing Lionel's explanation, Mordred herself seemed to start to anticipate such a state of mind. No matter how much see imagines it, she felt as if she would be unstoppable if she were in such state.
"I wanna experience that! Diva! did you experience that?" exclaimed Mordred
"I'm sorry! i haven't experienced such a state yet" apologized Diva
"Oh well whatever... How about you Shun? asks Mordred after she felt disappointed towards Diva's answer
"The state of zone? I feel like i can touch it, but i never actually manage to get to that point" answered Shun
"Ehhh... What a wimp" commented Mordred
"What did you say?!?!?! Do you want me to kill you right now?!?!?! Huh?!?1 Mordred?!?!?!" replied Shun clearly offended from Mordred's remark
"How about you Lionel? Did you experience it? please tell me you experienced it, cause if you don't, then your previous statement would look like a phony" said Mordred
"Don't underestimate me girl! I've already gone such experience before" said Lionel
"Whoa really? Hey! would you like to teach me? No! i impose you to teach me!!!" said Mordred with excitement in her eyes
"Being in that state of mind couldn't be taught to someone" replied Lionel causing Mordred to pout
At that development, Shun couldn't help but tease Mordred himself
"Hahahahaha! Sucks to be you"
In that moment while they were in the middle of their talk, Merlin on the other hand suddenly popped out of nowhere as he joined the conversation. Of course the reason why he approached the group was because he felt left out and also kind of interested in their topic.
"So what are you guys talking about?" asks Merlin
"Gah! When did you get here?" asks Shun
"Just now! I'm quite curious on the topic that you guys were talking about" answered Merlin
"Rest assured the topic has nothing to do with you" said Shun
"Inst that kind of harsh?" asks Merlin
"Not at all" answered Shun
"Nope" added Akito
"Knowing your personality, I'm not sorry at all" said Mordred
"I'm on their side" said Lionel
"Sorry about that Merlin! we really didn't mean it" added Diva
Hearing their response Merlin silently wept on the side as he felt abandoned at that very moment. But as if breaking the atmosphere within the army, Captain Kalego and the general themselves suddenly halted the movement of the army as they glance warily at the thick trees in front of them.
After awhile Captain Kalego conducted a few observational experiments towards the thick forest in front of him, as he suddenly jumped back in alertness and quickly informed the whole army.
"Everyone! Be careful! Enemy Ambush!"
Just as he said those words, numerous cult members sprung out from the trees as they attacked the marching army in front of them.
