2 hours later, Alexa got the clearance to be discharged. Chris and Scarlett bring the kids home and now they're at the parking lot in their apartment.
"Is Kimberly home already?" Scarlett asks
"Not sure. She didn't text me anything yet but she said that she'll stop by to check on us" Axel said bluntly while helping his twin sister out
Scarlett and Chris were caught off guard by that comment
"What do you mean she'll stop by to check on you guys? You didn't live with her?" Scarlett asks a bit worried after she and Chris exchange some worried glances
Alexa and Axel froze midway
"Um- we erm- you- you didn't know?" Axel stumbling over his words
"Who did you live with?" Chris asks curiously
"We live in our apartment by ourselves?" Axel exclaimed
"You live on your own?!" Scarlett and Chris said in unison and in disbelief
Scarlett and Chris get out of the car and follow the kids into their apartment. When they enter the apartment, it looks tidy and clean. Not too much stuff in it, no TVs, just some couch in the living room but the kitchen looks great. Full of necessities. So that's great. They're not starve themselves
"How long have you guys lived in this apartment?" Chris asks as he looks around at the apartment inspecting it. Axel put Alexa down on the sofa.
"Uh- we started to live on this apartment when we're 13" Axel responded
"Did Kimberly buy this apartment?" Scarlett asks
"No. We bought it. We lived with Kimmy and Anna from time to time when we're 10 -12 but then with our savings from our job, we finally rented this apartment because it's near to school, Kimmy and Anna. We don't want to burden people more than we should've. We're not their problems" Alexa replied
"You guys work?" Scarlett and Chris asked
"Yeah. When we're 10-11 we work at this small bakery, cleaning stuff after school and then Joshua, Anna's eldest son took us into the modeling world. So, since then we got a much nicer paycheck and we've been saving. We still got jobs from modeling from time to time but other than that we work at an ice-cream shop not too far from here every weekend" Axel exclaimed
Another guilt for the parents to endure. They worked so hard to keep on living and avoid being a burden to people while their parents have fortune to spend.
"Anna and Kimmy check on us everyday though. Don't worry. And they always keep our fridge full with food." Axel stated
"Good. You guys can start packing because start from tomorrow you'll live with me" Scarlett informs
Alexa shocked at hearing the news while Axel smiles widely
"Really? You're okay with us living with you? Because we don't wanna be in your way" Axel said
"You're both my children. You are my responsibilities. We told you guys that we want to make it up to you guys, didn't we? So, we'll start from there?" Scarlett said with smile
"Suddenly we're your responsibilities. I wonder where your responsibilities go this whole time" Alexa said bitterly, standing up from the sofa and to her room slamming the door making everyone flinched at the sudden sound
Axel, Scarlett and Chris shut their eyes and sighs
"I'm sorry. We've been through so much. She needs time to trust people. I'll go talk with her but if you guys wanna go back home, you can go" Axel said while making his way to Alexa room and close the bedroom door back leaving the parents in the living room
