Chapter 31 | Under attack

Ares's POV
I'm currently sitting beside Manon holding her hand. She's still in a coma, it's been a week and the doctor has just given us the daily update. Her condition is getting better it'll only be a few more days till she wakes up according to her.

Almost everyone is at the hospital except for James, Alexander and my dad (Jake). They're taking care of the mafias while we're all here visiting/ guarding Manon. Just in case someone found out that she's in a hospital and would try to attack her.

We have a few of us on each floor, there are three and we're on the second. Plus we also have guards, nobody from is on the ground floor only the guards. We thoughts the others floors were more important since they're directly under or above this floor.

I was telling Manon about the past two days, I couldn't come yesterday, I had to deal with an emergency so I'm actually just talking about yesterday and this morning.

I was telling her about Kenzo pranking Archer to lighten the mood. Let me just say that I didn't end well for Kenzo, Archer is not a fan of being pranked.

Kenzo's car is now pink with glitters, the whole car got a Barbie make over as well as his room. He just doesn't know it yet. Archer showed me that he called a few man to do all that while we're here.

Just as I finished telling Manon about it the hospital alarms start going off.

I look over to Kody, questioning what kind of alarm it is.

"We're under attack." Is all he says.

Fuck. Okay. Someone needs to stay in this room with Manon in case they decide to come trough the window.

As if reading my thoughts Kody speaks up.

"You go stand guard outside, I'll stay here. I already ordered the others to get in position." I nod and go outside, I hide myself so it looks like a clear path to the room.

Only a few minutes in position and people starts shooting.

First it was the ground floor.

Then they made their way to the first floor.

And now eight minutes after the alarm went off they're infiltrating the second floor.

The floor Manon is on.

I stay hidden and keep my gun close to me so I can shoot every person that comes in my vision that is not one of us.

Not even a minute after they started infiltrating this floor and they already figured out on which side Manon is.

As the first person comes in my view I shoot him right between his eyes.

And so with every single one until my clip clicks empty.

Fuck.

I quickly change ammo and start shooting at the new ones that just arrived.

After a while there's no more movement I wait a bit longer just to make sure. I get up and text Kody saying that I'm going to check the other floors to make sure everyone is okay. Just as I entered the stairwell I see someone coming from the other side of the floor, they probably used the other elevator.

I quickly hide behind the door and look through the small window. I observe him a little longer and see that he is wearing one of our uniforms so I go back to check on the others.

After checking on everyone for about 15min I go back to the second floor. As I quietly enter the room I see the guy from earlier holding Kody at gunpoint and Kody pointing his gun at the guy.

What?

Fuck. He must have switched to get on this floor unnoticed.

I point my gun at the guy that's holding Kody at gun point and tell him to drop his gun. He just laughs and just as I'm about to ask him why I feel a gun being put against the back of my head.

Shit.

Suddenly a gun goes off in the room and the guy in front of me drops dead.

I see Kody looking just as confused as I am.

Before I even have the chance to ask him about it I hear the guy behind me pulling the safety off of his gun.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." I hear a familiar voice say.

I look to my right and see Manon wide awake pointing a gun at the guy behind me. How is she awake suddenly, the doctor said it would've been a few more days before she woke up.

"You touch a hair on his head and I'll torture you everyday for a year and after I'll feed you to the pigs. So. Drop. It."

The gun is still pressed to my head, the guy not moving his gun.

Manon never being the patient one takes the safety off and shoots the guy in his legs.

He drops to the ground and with that the gun is no longer pointing at my head.

I slowly turn towards Manon, looking at her in disbelief. Still not believing she's awake right now and that she saved both our asses.

"Stop looking at me like that and tie the fucker up and lock him in the bathroom. I'll explain everything later today when everything is cleaned up and everyone is here. You know I don't like saying something twice."

With that Kody and I shoot in action. I grab the guy and lock him up while Kody starts making phone calls to everyone to clean this up and in case they caught some of the attackers to lock them in the basement of the warehouse.

After a few hours everything is cleaned up and we're waiting for everyone to arrive in Manon's room.

I'm sitting next to her on the bed, after she practically ordered me to because I didn't want to at first, afraid I would hurt her.

After a few minutes everyone is in the room, all very happy that Manon is awake again.

"Okay so everyone probably wants to know how I was able to shoot the guys if I just woke up.

Well I didn't really just wake up, I woke up about five days ago. Arthur and Misha were with me when I woke up. I told them about a plan to lure the Germans to make them lose as much soldiers so we can destroy them completely.

So we decided to lure them here, by pretending that we had a leak. That someone leaked my situation and where I was. It took a little longer than expected but still.

We are very close to destroying them. We need to figure out if one of the men from earlier was the second and third in command if so then we only need to go after Daniel Schmidt and his sister, Valentina Schmidt." Manon says.

Just hearing her name sends shivers down my spine, not the good kind.

I don't know if I can kill her, I mean I want to I really do I just don't know if I'm mentally ready for it. I'm scared that when I come gave to face with her that I will freeze.

It doesn't matter that I can kill almost everyone without much thought and not be scared. But she? As long as she is alive their will always be a part in me that is afraid.

"So when we arrive home later tonight we will eat and make up a plan to kill them. Can't work on an empty stomach."

Short chapter I know, but my exams start this month so I don't have much time.

Okay so with that said I will post 1 maybe 2 more chapter(s) after this one and then it won't be until July for the next.
