It has now been a few weeks since Jared imprinted in Jasmine. Things around the pack have been tense because all Jacob does is complain. At one point last week I ended up losing my shit on him.
Flashback "I don't understand why I can't tell Bella? She already knows about Athena." He says.
I look over at him and tilt my head. "She has no idea I am a hybrid. Carlisle and Sam forbade any of the Cullens to discuss me being a hybrid. Bella does not deserve to know about us unless she's an imprint and she's not." I tell him.
"How do you know she isn't? She's the love of my life and I want her. Why can't you support that?" He asked.
"You want me to support a relationship where she doesn't give two shits about you? Where she goes and is sleeping around with everyone including you? Let me ask you this again Jacob, what is going to happen if Edward ever comes back? Do you really think she loves you enough to pick you? Huh? No she doesn't. She doesn't care about you or your feelings. All she cares about is herself, and becoming immortal." I say.
He starts growling at me and I growl back louder. "You don't know what she wants." He says.
"Really? I don't? Because it is my understanding that when she had a nomad after her, she willingly ran to his location and got pissed off when Edward sucked the venom out of her and didn't let her change." I say.
"Whatever. Bella does love me and you are just pissed that your doctor is probably off fucking some other bitch instead of you." He says.
That's where I drew the line. I walked straight up to him and I punched him square in the nose and shattered it. I then kicked him hard in the balls causing him to fall over.
"You need to lose this better than you attitude. Be mad at the world all you want, but keep my imprints name out of your mouth or I will make you shut up again." I say and walk out to go to Jasper and Rose to pick up the kids.
Flashback over
I have also had a conversation with Caleb about not knowing if I wanted to continue whatever we were or was because I'm just not ready. He seemed to understand but asked if we could still hang out as friends and I of course said yes. I could be friends.
Today is Thursday and thank goodness I get a break starting tonight. I've been booked solid with clients. Sue was a sweetheart and brought me lunch today.
"Hi Athena. How's everything going today?" She asked.
"It's going pretty good! Had a lot of check ups today and other consultation. I am looking forward to my weekend off." I say with a small chuckle.
We continued eating our lunch and discussing plans the board have for the clinic. I have to say I'm really excited to see this place transform and build into their dream/vision for the clinic and for the people of La Push and some of Forks.
Once we finished eating, I had a few more clients to see. All results came back healthy and perfect which made me happy knowing my clients were doing well. As I started doing paperwork, suddenly the clinic doors busted open and open and I see the pack and paramedics rushing in with Jared on a gurney.
I instantly shot up out of my seat and and rushed over to them. "Talk to me."
"He was attacked by and animal. We brought him here since it's closer for an operation. He's losing a lot of blood and don't know how much longer he could survive." One of the paramedics say.
I page all nurses on duty and move Jared into the operating room. His back is tore up bad. As I started surgery, I couldn't help but whimper for one of my pack children. He was losing so much blood I had to think quick. No other blood could work for him since he isn't a shifter. I sent a nurse out to have one of the boys come in.
Suddenly, a nurse and gowned Sam walked in. "What do you need?" He asked.
"Blood. And only yours will work." I say hoping he gets what I mean.
"Take what you need." He says.
The nurses get him hooked up while I continue to stop the bleeding in multiple areas. Once I got the bleeding to stop, I made sure to clean the wounds thoroughly to prevent infection. I then began to start stitching him up. It took over 100 stitches to get him closed properly.
The scars started at the top of his shoulders and ran all the way down his back in 3 areas. He was going to be in a lot of pain and recovery for those to heal will take a little longer than normal. After the stitching was done, I bandaged up his back and placed a wrap around his torso to help hold them in place and give extra support.
The nurse helped get Sam unhooked from where he was donating his blood. Without Sam being here, I'm not sure if Jared would've survived. Him and I both stripped out of our gowns and followed the nurses into a recovery room we had. I hooked him up to his IV's and medicine before checking his vitals again.
Everything came out fine and were going back to normal. As I was finishing up, I couldn't help but hearing a scream coming from the waiting room.
Sam and I made our way up there and I saw Jasmine screaming and crying trying to get out of Paul's arms. When everyone saw me, Jasmine ran to me and collapsed into my arms.
"I-I-It's all my f-fault mommy." Jasmine sobbed into my chest. I picked her up and held her close.
"Someone want to tell me what the hell happened and why we almost lost Jared today?" I asked.
