To be fair, it was sunrise when I left the Sakamaki mansion for the final time.

The sun was barely over the horizon when I walked past the rose bushes reminiscing on my many, often volatile, conversations with Subaru. It was a little brighter when I walked past Christa's tower, and it was pitch black when I entered the underground tunnels we had all once walked together on the night of the ball.

I didn't bother bringing a flashlight or lighting a candle. I was thankful for the darkness: It could hide the pitiful tears streaming down.

I knew what I was doing was the only right option, but I couldn't help but feel guilty once everyone realized that I was never going to come back.

I grit my teeth before taking in an unsteady breath. When Yui would realize I'm not coming back.

The letter that I left would be sure to leave little solace, but for the life of me, I couldn't write any more than that. I just couldn't.

It would hurt too much.

So in one last selfish act, this future dead girl decided to keep the farewells to a minimum.

When I left, no one stopped me. Why would they? They thought I was going to be back in a day or two.

But... if anyone did stop me, maybe they would notice that I didn't pack much for an overnight stay at Banmaden. Perhaps, they would question why I was dressed for a funeral, and maybe, just maybe, they could notice the last signs of a wounded animal walking into their own slaughterhouse.

But it was stone cold and dead silent when I left, and I couldn't help but wince at the realization this is all I will be at the end of this journey.

So when I entered the demon world, I didn't head for Banmaden, I headed straight towards the town to confront some unfinished business that I couldn't leave behind.

What if the bullet isn't enough?

I need to make sure that Kino or the founders have a way to take down Karlheinz in the unfortunate case the bullet isn't enough. Cordelia did tell me that the bullet never misses, but based on her character it's better to be safer than sorry and head her words as gospel.

Surely the townspeople had to have some knowledge of what would be enough to kill one of their own. The problem will be how to bring it up in a way that doesn't seem like a direct threat to their livelihood. I guess it didn't help that I've dressed in what appears as an assassin or the grim reaper... two very trustworthy figures.
