Though grieving over Itto, I decide to call Yanfei back. I will not miss the chance to get Itto justice. It rings for no more than a second. "(Y/N), please tell me you're here to say yes." She sounds pleading, I guess this is going to be a hard case.

"It's a yes." Yanfei has a not so silent hurray and clears her throat.

"Alright, I'll have a car pick you up in less than an hour. Get ready, look professional, and I'll fill you in once you're here." I take a look at my closet. When was the last time I actually bothered to wear something nice other than to work?

"Sunshine! Wear something nice, we're going out soon." I picked up an elegant outfit and headed to the living room. Itto's face lit up and he came closer to me. He lifted my chin up with his hand gingerly, "I'm so lucky you're mine," he spoke softly. A pink hue swept over my face. I held eye contact but I wanted to look away.

I sigh thinking at the thought. "I never got used to his compliments.." I slipped on something tasteful and made sure it looked like I hadn't been crying. I'd rather she not ask questions. Once I arrive I take a good look at the place. The building is tall, intimidating, and making me feel completely out of my comfort zone. However, I trudge in and wait in the lobby for Yanfei. I look at the people, they all seem to be so busy. As I look on I see Yanfei's pink hair through the bustling people, she's carrying coffees. She offers me a bright smile while holding out the coffee. "Thanks, I'll try to be as much help as possible." We head up to her office and she lays out the papers.

"We don't have much definitive evidence. We have a few witnesses, but even our best detectives couldn't find out about his personal life. All we've found out about his name is that the rival gang calls him the Red Oni. We're having a different set of lawyers persecute that gang. However, we've been able to follow his subordinate Shinobu." That name sounds familiar, why? "We now have him in custody, in a hospital unconscious. Shinobu lead us to the hospital, and unfortunately she's his lawyer. She's never ever shown she's apart of the gang, never done any of the illegal activities or even near the crimes. Just arriving for the aftermath. Once the Red Oni is awake we'll question him, with her present of course. What I need you to do is link the evidence together, I've looked over this case so many times I need a fresh pair of eyes." I look over the info, brawls, drugs, gambling, stealing, and murder.

"What evidence do we have on the drugs?" She pulls out an evidence bag and starts to tell the story of the raid.

"Clear! Stay back Yanfei!" Heh, like I can't take care of myself. I see a secret door and open it. Shinobu escaping out the window..! What happened since I last saw you Shinobu?

"They're gone again, aren't they?" I call out to one of the agents. I sound defeated, but how can I not. Whoever is giving us these tips is giving them too late for us to react. It must be the rival gang, this gang has leak. Is it Shinobu..? But if she's with the rival gang, the crimes are much worse...

"They are gone Yanfei, but they've left some things behind." I briskly walk over and see a couple of bags of unlabeled substances. I'll have to have Ying'er take a look at it.

Once she's done with her retelling I nod. She saw Shinobu there but... we can't directly tie her to them. Other than her constant appearance near them. "Ok.. the brawls?" She sighs.

"Fighting itself isn't illegal unless in public and causing a disturbance. It was their men fighting, those are separate charges. However, we heard the Red Oni is found of his men. We were hoping to drop their charges in exchange for a small deal. The stealing and gambling goes hand in hand with that. The murder however... it was one of our FBI agents. Killing one of them is a life sentence and he would rot in there with no probation. We aren't sure who did the kill, so the charges won't stick. Not once have we caught them in the act. So having him in custody will allow us to cut a deal. We won't have him go down for the murder, but go to jail for the rest." It seems like she has it all.. why does she need me?

"So.. you have what you need? Why did you bring me here really?" She looks a little uneasy.

"Well.." Before I get a chance to grill her, the phone rings. She picks it up promptly and brightens up a little. "He is? The one next door, yes? Ok. Yes they're here Yelan.. Ningguang..? No. I understand but I have yet to—...... ok. Thank you, good day." I give her a look of annoyance.

"Yet to? What is going on Yanfei, what aren't you telling me?" I've had enough of this crap for a lifetime. "Did you bring me here under false tenses?"

"Follow me to the interrogation room, I'll explain when we're there." We walk into a hallway, lined with doors. We walk into one and there's a one way mirror. Sitting in the interrogation room is Itto.

For a long moment I'm silent, and uncertain. Is this a cruel trick? My blood starts to boil, but I know it's him. It's really him, alive. I can't help but have an outburst. "What is this! You just jeopardized the case by telling me about it! You know that! Why-" She puts a finger to my mouth.

"No one knows you know. They won't know. If Itto goes down you will too. I lied, we know about him and his personal life. You will be going down with him, even though you don't know anything. For killing that agent... I'll do anything to her vengeance." Her..? Hu Tao.....? "Now go in there and get him to give himself up, or we will take you down with him." She's lost herself. I remember how those two smiled, laughed, and just enjoyed their company. A few hours ago I thought he was dead and now I find he's alive and apart of gang? How am I supposed to feel? Relived? Angry? Heartbroken?

"You really did lose yourself didn't you. You set me up last night, didn't you?" Her eyes widen and she looks away. "I am a lawyer too you know. I now know you don't have any real charges, so we will take our leave."

"We won't let you." I look behind Yanfei, one of the higher ups here. Behind her, Ningguang, the head of the FBI. Holy shit Itto..

"I understand you believe you are above the law here, but let your prissy little lawyer tell you otherwise. Shinobu, you didn't let her come. Probably forced traffic on her. However, I will not allow this. Either you move, or I will make sure that I take you down along with everyone else." Ningguang stares me down, but someone taps her shoulder. Beidou, head of one the special forces.

"Hey Ning! I brought the coffee you wanted." Her face softens at the smell of the coffee.

"Let them go, we will arraign them some other time. Yanfei, have one of my task forces go over to the crime scenes once more. We will find something to take care of Itto." They all clear out of the cramped room and once I'm alone I look at the mirror. He looks so calm... High school sweethearts and I never knew? Am I stupid or is he that good of liar? I stare at him for a few more minutes before Shinobu comes in. That's right, she's come by to talk to Itto a few times. I've let her have dinner with us. How could I forget? She bows her head a slight bit to acknowledge me.

"My superior." Superior? "Yes you, they told me he's free to go, so why is he still in there?" I take another glance at him and shrug.

"Tell him..." my words get caught in my throat as my tears well up in my eyes. Anxiety filling the pool of my stomach. I don't want to let the words out. It's that I can't help but feel that I don't know him the way I thought I did. From sweet, loving, and caring to finding out he's a murderer?

"Once we're out of here (Y/N), I want to marry you." My cheeks turn a bright red as I listen to Itto blabber on. "I just know you'll be the one to pull me out when things get tough.. I'd do the same. I will protect you until my last breaths."

"Tell him I don't want to see him again." Her eyes widened as I passed her the tears flowed out.

As he leans on the railing of the roof he turns his head to look at me. His smile wide. "Don't you love the view?"

However as I hear the doorknob rattle I turn back. "No... wait." I wipe my tears. "I'll.. I'll help you win this battle Shinobu. However, until then don't tell him about this." I walk into the room, Shinobu right behind me. "Itto."

"(Y/N).." His heart seems to break as he sees my face.

"Don't say another word, we're leaving. Let's go home Itto."
