"General!" I yell as more of a greeting than recognition. "Haven't seen you for a while, how are you? Been busy I suppose." I smile softly at him.

"Oh, (Y/N). It has been a while hasn't it?" He gives me a soft smile. "If you haven't had lunch yet, shall we grab a bite to eat?" I nod enthusiastically and he starts leading me off to their dinning area. "My excellence!" He gives her a salute. "Would you mind caring for (Y/N), I'll go ahead and get us lunch?" So she's joining us? I wanted it just to be the two of us, but no one holds a candle to her in his mind. She takes a look over at me and I smile as wide as I can.

"(Y/N), good to see you. Unfortunately I still have some duties, but I can keep them company for a bit." We sit down and she gives me a knowing smile.

"You like Gorou don't you (Y/N)?" My face flushes a bright pink, she's known me long enough to know what I'm feeling.

"And if I do? How am I supposed to tell him that? He's always too busy." I sigh with dejectedness.

"Is he not making time for you now? Have you really not noticed how nicely he treats you? (Y/N), I think he likes you back." I think it over in my head. I do suppose we've had our moments, right?

"I guess I've been overthinking things haven't I?" She nods with a smile.

"He's not busy today, ask him out why don't you? He deserves a break as well. Well here he is coming back. Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow with some good news." She stands up with a knowing smile and waves a goodbye to him. He sits across from me, where Kokomi was.

"I see her excellence was in a rush to leave, hopefully I didn't bother her. This is what we're having for lunch today. I might have to check out the farmers and see what's going on with our rations." He looks quizzically down at the plain meal.

"Either way, I'm sure it's good." I look down at it, suddenly nervous on continuing the conversation. "Uh.. we'll Kokomi said you weren't too busy today?"

"Mm.. sure, but I'll find things to do." He takes a bite of the meal, with no further complaints.

"We could find things to do together?" His ears perk up. "Unless you think you'll find other things more important to do." I take a sip of the water he brought.

"No no! I'd love to go out with you!" My face reddens a little, but I know he doesn't mean it like that. I can hear something tapping the benches as he continues to speak enthusiastically. "I'll hurry to finish up my work, we can meet around sundown?"

"Sure." I give him a small smile.

Once it's our meet up time I wait for him patiently, a small smile on my face. However, by the time the sun is gone he doesn't appear. I go home feeling a little dejected. I know he probably has a good reason for having not shown up, but it still hurts. I stay home the next day, and the day after. Starting to ignore Gorou in a way. I decide to get whatever needs to get done, done. I write him a curt letter, sending it out not long after writing it.

It's fine.
-(Y/N)

By the end of the week I'm exhausted, but happy that this made me finish things I had been putting off. I decide to go out to the market, needing some groceries. As I look around I decide I was being rather upset over something that couldn't be helped. I pick up what I need and head home. I start on some tonkotsu ramen, setting up a container to take some to Gorou tomorrow.

The next morning I head out early for Watasumi island and after a boat ride I arrive. With the ramen in hand I start looking around the camp for him. I see him instructing a some recruits. I wait behind him to finish. Once he turns around his face turns into one of guilt. "(Y/N) I'm-"

"No no, whatever happened must've been more important. It's fine. I brought you your favorite, tonkotsu ramen." I hold it out to him with a smile. "Take it, I'm sure you've had a hard weak general."

His tail slowly wags behind him, a soft smile spreading on his face. "Thank you, I'll be sure to at least have someone notify you next time." I nod.

"I best be on my way then, I know you're busy." His eyes widen, his tail stopping in its tracks.

"Ah no..! I've been trying to clear my schedule for you. I really wanted to make it up to you." I chuckle.

"You must really enjoy my company then, general." His face turns a bright pink and he turns around, his tail wagging by the tip.

"Wait by the tables, I'll be over in 5." Sure enough he comes over, we talk until the sun sets as he eats. "Have you eaten yet? You've been here a while.."

"Oh, I had some snacks and such on the boat don't worry. How cute of you to worry about me. You like me don't you general?" I snicker, teasing.

"Of course I do.." He looks down at his empty bowl, his tail hitting the bench rapidly. "I like you very much." My cheeks heat up, almost regretting my teasing.

"You mean it Gorou..? I like you a lot too." I let out an awkward laugh.

"I'll be sure to take you out on a proper date soon." He grabs my hand, barely being able to hold eye contact.
