Your POV
"There you are, I've been waiting a while you know." He says with a cheeky smile. I give him a frown. "What's wrong?" He grabs my hand, pulling me inside the restaurant.

"You can't tell people we're going on a date Childe!" I yell in a hushed voice. His smile falters for a moment. However he spins regains his composure and cups my cheek.

"Why not? Don't tell me you liked that guy." I smack his hand away.

"So what if I do Childe." I glare at him a little and he frowns. He leans his head on his hand and looks elsewhere.

"Then why aren't you with him." He spits out annoyed. I stand up from the table.

"I hate it when you get in your moods, I think I will go with him. Don't come to me again, unless you're going to apologize. Good day." I walk out kicking a few pebbles. Today would be visiting day right?

I look around to the high mountains to see if he's watching me. I don't see a figure at all, I guess he stopped coming around because of Childe. However after that day I realized he probably does like me the same way. Why else would he keep watch over me? Or maybe I really am delusional. Quickly, I start heading over to the Inn with little hope I'll find him. Once I'm there I ask Verr when was the last time she saw Xiao. "Last time..? Maybe a few days ago. He hasn't return since the last time he went to go see you." Would he know I'd come and try to find him?

"Ok, thanks Verr." I give her a small smile and head out to the balcony. Should I try to call for him? It might work.

It at least won't hurt to try. "Xiao?" It's practically a whisper, I'm too nervous. The sun is setting, I should go back shouldn't I? I won't make it back till the middle of the night if it took this long to come. That's what I get for coming mid day instead of the morning like usual. I can pick out a few herbs on the way back I guess. I head down by the elevator and take my own path. I pick quite a few flowers and grasses, however I stop dead in my tracks at the sounds of hilichurls. I look and see they're in some random clearing. I sigh in relief. They should see me at this distance. I head in the opposite direction, but I hear hushed whispers. I look to see the abyss mage is gone and before I have time to react it's aura appearing in front me pushes me back with a small burn. I take out my sword and run off to the other hilichurls. Their arches might hit me if I don't care of them first. I take them out quickly, especially with the help of my vision. However as I'm distracted with a mitachurl I hear the mage cast a spell. I turn around to see myself about to be literal toast. I turn to run and duck from the axe about to split me open. "Xiao!" I yell in hopes he'll appear. Barely even a split second later wind envelopes me and I'm far away from all of them.

"You're so reckless." He sounds mildly upset. I hug him tightly and he doesn't dare touch me. "What would that guy you're going out with think about this." He pushes me off. "Don't trust that I'll save you like that again, you just caught me when I wasn't busy."

"You've been busy these past days.. Verr says you haven't returned to the Inn, why is that?" He frowns at the mention of the Inn.

"There's no good reason for me to stay there, I don't need rest." He's been overworking himself since he thought I moved on.

I cup his check and he grabs my wrist to pull it away but I land a kiss on his cheek. His eyes shoot open, a bright red color covering his face. "I'm not going out with him, he's just an ass. You do feel the same as me don't you?" I almost give him pleading eyes.

"Perhaps, but either way we couldn't ever work out. You mortals don't have the same life span as the rest of us. Falling in love has no benefits." His grip on my wrist tightens. "..but if it's with you I'll try. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get to see your soul again." In another life...

"I hope I find you every time Xiao." He gives me a soft smile.

"I hope I find you every time as well." He leans into my touch, he's been waiting for this hasn't he.
