⚠️TW/ self harm scars, mentions self harm⚠️

"excuse me?" a little boy slowly approached jisung.

"hi, is something wrong?" jisung asked gently, sitting up.

"um..what are those, are you hurt? my mommy has those too." he asked worriedly.

jisung looked conflicted, trying to answer this as best as he can.

"they're angel marks." minho replied gently. "people who have those are angels that fell down to earth."

"oh no! how do you get back to heaven?" the little boy sat down across from jisung.

"well, i take my time. but i'll go back eventually." jisung smiled.

"leo there you are!" two women rushed over. "sorry." she apologize to minho and jisung as she grabbed ahold of leo's hand.

"it's okay, he's adorable." jisung smiled.

"mommy he's an angel! look he has angel marks! just like you!" he smiled up at his mother.

the woman looked over, ready to apologize.

"hey, don't worry about it." jisung smiled gently.

"i'm sage, this is my wife marie." she smiled as the two sat next to leo.

"i'm minho and this is jisung, it's nice to meet you both." minho smiled.

"mommy are you gonna leave me? and go back to heaven?" leo asked, tears in his eyes.

"not anytime soon, not ever." sage smiled.

"yay." leo hugged his mother as she softly looked over at her wife.

"thank you, honestly. we didn't know how to tell him. angel marks, i like that." sage smiled.

"you're both beautiful, especially your angel marks." marie smiled.

"so, how long have you been together?" minho asked.

"four years. we got married three years ago. and two years ago we adopted leo. he's six now." marie replied.

"aw, that's so cute." jisung smiled.

"how long have you two been together?" sage asked as she ran her hands through leo's hair.

"oh we're not together yet." jisung shyly smiled.

"oh, well i wish you two the best." sage smiled.

"i'll hold him." marie gently pulled leo into her lap, slightly rocking him.

"thanks." sage placed a small kiss onto marie's cheek.

"he's asleep." marie chuckled when she noticed he got heavier.

"well, let him rest." sage chuckled. "anyways, is it wrong to ask how long clean you are?" she asked quietly.

"a couple days...you?" jisung asked.

"i relapsed last night." sage said as she looked down.

"hey, you did well." jisung smiled. "anyways, what do you guys do? like, for work?"

"i'm a physics teacher and she's an english teacher." marie answered. "what do you guys do?"

"we're in a band." minho answered.

"really?" sage said excitedly.

"we're called stray kids, you should come to our concert tomorrow night." minho smiled.

"please!" sage said, looking over at marie.

"okay okay." marie chuckled. "we should go now though, we'll see you tomorrow night." marie said as she stood up, holding onto leo tightly.

the four bid their goodbyes, leaving minho and jisung in silence.

"...angel marks?" jisung smiled after a few minutes of silence.

"yes, angel marks." minho smiled.

"ji..." felix said softly as he approached the pair. everyone else followed behind, grabbing their towels.

"is that what i think it is?" hyunjin asked gently.

"yeah." jisung nodded, not feeling as ashamed as he expected. that's all thanks to minho.

"let's not talk about it now, it's not anyones business." minho said gently.

"it's okay, i know you're all probably curious. we can discuss it when we watch the sunset." jisung said with a small smile.

hours passed by and the eight boys were now sitting side by side on the beach. they watched as the sun set, a smile resting on their faces.

"you're all curious, right?" jisung spoke softly.

"take your time." minho said with a small frown.

"it started when i was in middle school. i told you all about my past but i didn't tell you about me cutting myself. i was chronically online as a kid, middle school being especially awful. one day i got into a really bad argument with my boyfriend at the time. it was a stupid, petty couple argument and we both made it bigger than it needed to be.

"anyways, right after that i got into a really big fight with my mom. it was the first time i really fought back at her. i walked away while she was screaming at me and she pulled me by my hair down the stairs. it was the first time i pushed her off of me. but she slammed me into the wall and slapped me. she screamed at me about me putting my hands on her.

"i couldn't take it. so i took this tiny, sharp piece of plastic and began cutting my thighs. after that, i continued to cut. it was my coping mechanism. i had friends that also cut so they would get me blades. but now i'm a grown adult and i still cut as a coping mechanism. it makes me feel pathetic, honestly." jisung chuckled as he finished speaking.

"hey, you're not pathetic. self harm is an addiction. you said yourself you don't shame addicts, don't be a hypocrite. there's no need to feel ashamed. sure, it's not the healthiest coping mechanism. but who's to say you should feel ashamed. we're here for you, ji." minho was the first one to speak.

"i agree. you shouldn't feel ashamed. the scars are there because you fought. and i'm proud of you for not giving up." felix smiled.

"you're not alone, jisung." chan reached over, ruffling his hair. this earned him a glare from minho.

"thank you guys." jisung smiled.

"we'll be here, always. you're our family." hyunjin smiled.

"i love you guys."

a chorus of "we love you too." filled jisungs ears, along with sniffles.
