ONE WEEK LATER

A good mood jaemin was way different from a good jaemin. Like way different and Winter could attest to that. Good mood jaemin would scold her for being a clutz (even as minjeong he was the same), while good jaemin would just shake his head and clean up after her. It was a great change that winter was not ready to witness.

“he's like a different person.” winter grumbled behind her palms that she laid on her face. Beside her was yeji who was too clueless about what her best friend was spouting about. It was not her fault she had a life outside Winter's. “He's like nice with a capital N.”

“so you mean, on like, normal occasions, he's a nice with a capital E.” yeji was lost but winter did not need to know that. She scrunched her nose. “is it that weird for him to have that attitude?”

“of course it is!” winter wailed, removing her hands and throwing them in air before belatedly placing them on her lap. “it's like he has a different personality. I don't know if he a a multiple personality disorder or imposter syndrome.” she seethed, “what I'm trying to say is, that's not him. ”

Yeji looked at winter, silently asking if she was serious. She was not that personal with jaemin. Only knowing him through what the school body says about him. She was not like karina who knew him in a personal level. So, who was she to judge?

“Don't you think you're a little insensitive? I mean, maybe he had some sort of change of heart. People do that you know.” she nodded her head knowingly. “I mean, character development exist.”

“But not that fast.” wonter was growing frustrated. Why couldn't anyone see that jaemin was in fact different—personality wise. No one changes that quick. Unless there's something wrong with them! “and Jeno’s gotten more protective. Which doesn't make any sense.”

If jaemin had a change of heart, then jeno would do the same. Jeno was practically a slave for Na Jaemin. Always trailing after him and fulfilling his every wish like some genie. He was not a genie, he was the devil!

“and don't get me started on karina.” winter heard yeji scoff, as she expected.

Why was she telling this to yeji anyway? Simple, because yeji was her only friend. Her compadre through thick and thin, in richer and in poorer, for death they do not part. She was practically married to his idiot.

Yeji perched her right elbow on the backrest, opening her palm before laying her cheek on it. “what about miss rocket puncher now?”

“she asked me to marry her.” wonter expected yeji to choke because of her saliva going down the wrong pipe, not a slap across the face. “what the fuck.”

Yeji eyed her best friend ridiculously. “you,” she pointed at winter, “was asked by the she-devil to marry her? Are you two nuts!? Not only did the two of you cancel and engagement together, you almost made poor mrs. Yu have a heart attack! Have you no mercy on her not so kind soul.”

“Yeji,” honestly, winter was reconsidering yeji as her emergency contact. She should be talking to soobin or taehyun. (Definitely taehyun). “how much would it cost you to take this seriously.”

“why me? Aren't it supposed to be you?”

And this is why she needed to talk to taehyun. Winter raised her hands in defeat, a deadpanned expression on her face. “you know what, never mind!”

“there is something weird about Jaemin, and it's not the fact that he's in a good mood.” taehyun looked over his book, at Jaemin who entered the room with blinding smile. While on normal occasions the bunny's smile would still be blinding, this time it felt real, like he actually wanted to smile. And jeno was not trailing behind him.
