There is a dream I keep having
I am adrift upon the seas
Water lapping against my face softly
It caresses me steering my body to places unknown
Cold liquid covers and seeps into my ears muffling worldly static
I find peace in this release of control
Now I am the shore
No longer adrift floating where the wind blows
I am the rock upon which the seas break
Foaming and angry
Relentless with their assault
A pillar to break the waves
But I am wearing away
The ocean has raged against me for so many years
Throwing debris breaking and grinding
How much longer can I stand
Before I too am reduced to a grain of sand.
