Unknown Feelings|| Max Mayfield

THE RETURN

We met up with Mike and Will at the house and my goodness was I relieved. Right now though we were sitting in the kitchen waiting for Hopper to get off the phone. A few minutes late he slammed the phone down

"They didn't believe you did they?" Dustin asked already knowing the answer.

"We'll see" Hopped answered

"We'll see?!" Mike said rhetorically "we can't just sit here while those things are loose!"

"We stay here and we wait for help" Hopper spoke again ignoring Mikes comments.

I had been cleaned up now there was a bandage on my leg but it was now soaked in blood.

I stood up to go to see Will. Until Lucas asked me.

"Where you going?".

"Somewhere" I replied not really in the mood to talk. I began to limp to his room and I saw him laying there eyes closed and his face pale.

"Don't worry man I'm going get you out of there alive, whatever it takes ok?" "Then we can all go to the arcade and I can teach you some new tricks, please." My voice began to break.

NORMAL POV:

Behind all of the toughness was a fragile little boy who loved and thought of his friends like family.
He couldn't loose any of them.

Alex came back into the room his a a little puffy. The party and Max still sat at the table.

He made his way to a seat next to Max and she subconsciously laid her head on his shoulder.
Making his heart flutter.

"You okay?" He whispered so only she could hear.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine" she responded a bit of fright in her voice. So discretely Alex clasped her hand and squeezed it reassuringly making her turn her head to his direction giving him a smile.

"Did you guys know that Bob founded the AV club?" Mike asked the party

Lucas lifted his head "really?"

"Yeah, he petition the school to start it and everything" Mike continued "Then he had a fundraiser for equipment" "We can't let him die in vein"

"Well what do you want to do Mike, the chief right on this one." "We can't fight those demo-dogs on our own" Dustin said sounding tired

"Demo-dogs?" Max asked wanting him to elaborate

"Demegorgan, dogs merge them demo-dogs" he said in the most blunt voice

Lucas going back to the conversation latter "plus he has an army now"

"His army" Alex spoke under his breath. It had been the first time he had spoken to everyone since he came back from see Will.

There faces all turned to him "what do you mean Steve asked

"Maybe if we stop him we stop his army" Mike said finishing my sentence. Alex grinned at him and he reciprocated the gesture.

Mike stood up and rushed to Wills desk, it had all his drawing including the drawing of the shadow monster.

Mike showed everyone and began to how it was like a hive mind, and how it was connected to Will.

Everything was slowly beginning to make sense , then it hit Dustin.

"The mind flayer" he said

The shadow monster was just like the mind flayer. He explained how it was so ancient that it didn't even know it's own home.

"Great so how do we kill this thing?" Hopper asked as he snatched the manual from Dustins hand.

Now this is where it got complicated, in order to defeat the mind flayer you need to summon an undead army because zombies don't have brains.

Hopper sighed in defeat and threw the book of the table.

"If anyone know a how to destroy this thing it's Will, he's connected to it. He knows it's weakness" Mike said to them all.

"I thought we couldn't trust him anymore, that he's a spy for the mind flayer now" Max said unsurely

"Yeah but he can't spy if he doesn't know where he is." Alex said behind them all now diverting the attention to himself.

ALEX POV

Now I was outside with Dusting and Lucas trying to find anything that could be useful

"Hey.. guys, I'm sorry about dart and all. I guess I just thought he was my friend" Dustin spoke in a sad tone

"I understand if you want me out of the party so your girlfriend can take my spot if you want." He said facing Lucas

Damn that hurt, I forgot Lucas likes Max...

"She's not my girlfriend." Lucas said while letting out a laugh

I sought of relief flooded through me as he said that but my smile dropped as Dustin said

"I saw you holding hands with her in the bus Lucas"

"She was just scared" Lucas answered Dustins assumption.

"Maybe, but I could feel it." Dustin spoke again

"Feel what?" Lucas asked confused

"The electricity." Dustin spoke before he headed inside

It was silent between Lucas and I for a minute but then it was broken when Lucas asked me

"You like her don't you?"

To be honest to question caught me off guard and all the equipment I had fumbled to the ground.

"Wh-What?" I asked needing him to elaborate

"Max, I see the way you look at her, the way your so happy when she's around. You find it difficult to get angry at her. I thought I had a crush on her but man yours in on another level so I'll back off" he spoke again

"I'm sorry for what I said today, it was uncalled for and I was never mad at you" I said changing the subject

"It's cool man, your my brother your stuck with me for life." Lucas spoke a smile bright on his face

We did our little handshake, "Brothers for life"
