Max and Dustin had been on the phone for Got knows how long .

Eventually Max then hung up the phone. "Hey, guys, I might have a lead."

Max stood infront of Alex leaning into him as they faced Dustin and Robin.

"Seriously?" Dustin asked with a smile.

"Yeah. Apparently, Eddie gets drugs from some guy named Reefer Rick, and sometimes Eddie crashes there." Max told them.

Immediately Alex's body tensed. Max felt this happen but said nothing

"That sounds promising." Robin said. "Where does this Reefer Rick guy live?"

"See, that's the thing." Max hesitated before speaking again. "No one knows. He's more of a... a legend than someone that people actually know."

"What about a last name?" Dustin asked.

"I don't know that either." Max said.

"Bet the cops know the last name." Steve jumped in.

"What?" Max asked.

Steve walked over to them and leaned on the counter. "Cops. I mean, listen, if this Reefer Rick is actually a drug dealer, I guarantee you he's been busted at some point. Means he's in the system."

"The cops? Really, Steve? That's your suggestion?" Dustin wondered.

"I mean, I just think at this point they should probably be filled in on what we know, what's going on." Steve answered.

"You think Eddie's guilty, don't you?" Dustin folded his arms.

"Whoa. I believe in innocent until proven guilty, all that constitutional shit. I just, you know, I just don't think we can rule it out." Steve said.

Max furrowed her eyebrows. "That's precisely what we're trying to do here, Steve."

"And maybe we'd have a little bit more luck if you spent less time trying to find a girlfriend and more time trying to find Eddie." Dustin told him.

"Well, somebody has to attend to the customers." Steve gestured to a customer.

"Especially if they're babes, right?" Robin teased.

Alex had stood there silent the whole conversation. If he told them he knew Rick they would ask why and they would know he's doing drugs. If he doesn't tell them then it would slow them down on finding out what was going on

Dustin looked at Alex. The fear in his eyes when he Max mentions reefer Rick

"Alex you ok?" Dustin asked suspiciously

"Yeah fine. I'm just gonna go get fresh air" the brunette boy says about to leave

"Hold on" Dustin says running and blocking the door

"You know something." He continued

"Dustin I don't I just to Hawkins. Move"

"Not until you tell me what you know!"

"I don't know anything"

"Just tell us!"

"Dustin I said move!" Alex said now very agitated. He had slammed his fist very close to Dustin's head

His pockets carrying his "stuff" fell onto the floor

Quickly catching Max and Steve's attention

"Alex... what are those" Steve asked going to pick them up

Alex looked to see what happened and saw his pill bottle and cigarettes on the floor

He scrambled to pick them up throwing them back into his pockets

"It's nothing." He said not making eye contact with any of them

Dustin looked at Max then at the boy.

What happened for it to get this bad

"Are those from Rick?" Dustin asked quietly

Nobody said anything the room stayed silent.

Alex sighed there was no point in lying anymore

"Lovers Lake" Alex said

"What?"

"Reefer Rick, hide out is lovers lake." He finished
