I have been dropping bombshell after another since this story broke. But despite how satisfying this has been for my curiosity, I just want it to be over, we all do. I have just dropped my latest report in Lex's office; I am waiting approval. This wait always feels like eternity.
Then my phone rings, startling me as usual

"My office." Is all he manages to say before hanging up. I can see my heart beating through the beige silk blouse I'm wearing. I'm almost sure I'm getting a pania attack when I make entrance into his office.
"Sir?" I say, my voice shaky.
Lex looks up and then back down at the report.    He goes at it for a few more minutes, making me wonder why he called me if he was not ready to yell. He must think he is quite something for me to stand here and stare at. I think to myself, subconsciously rolling my eyes.
"What was that?" He asks, and it takes me a moment to understand what he's talking about. Nonetheless, I pretend to have no clue.
"Sir?" I ask
I can see a hint of amusement on his face when he fully turns to look at me.
"Stop calling me sir." He says handing me my report back.  He adds;  "This is good, get it published."
"Thank you sir." I respond and he scowls. Realizing my mistake instantly,  I stand fixed to that ground, wishing it could swallow me before I have to ask whether he is okay with me calling him Lex. What else would he want you to call him? My subconscious asks shamelessly and I almost roll my eyes again. I don't realize mouth is still wide open untill he speaks.
"Just Lex. And can you not freeze every time i say something." He says, leaning back against his chair. He seems so at ease today and I wonder why.
"Sure." I respond before heading for the door.
