An Unlikely Love

Chapter 7

Alessio's POV

We're here at the barn and it's a really nice facility. I didn't expect such a fancy looking center. It seemed really expensive. Considering the area they used to live in it just surprised me that she'd be able to afford a nice center for Evie. It's amazing what a single parent can do.

"Okay Evie you know where to grab your stuff from." Benjamin told her and she nodded

"By herself? I ask

"Yeah I supervised her but she can grab her stuff herself. If she needs help she asks."

It always amazes me hearing how independent Lyn is. I wasn't a functional person until my late teens early 20's

She went to a storage locker and put in the combination on the lock before opening it. She grabbed a couple blue things that matched her shirt. She placed them on a bench across from a stall. She then went back for a bin.

She beckoned for me to go to her so I did. She pointed at a covered saddle

"Do you need this one?"

She nodded at my question so I grabbed it for her

"You can leave the cover there." She explained then guided me to a post where I placed her brown leather saddle

"Wanna meet Tango?" She asked us

"Who's Tango?" Tori asked

"My pony!" She exclaimed and ran off

"Evelyn don't run!" I called after her

We all followed her to the fourth stable on the left side

She unlock it and went inside. There was a really cute dark brown horse laying down.

I always thought horses stood to sleep.

"Hi Tango! You look sleepy." She scratched his nose and he licked her hand

She put something around his face and hooked a leash to it. She motioned for us to stand aside and we did. She gently pulled on the leash and he got up. Then she lead him out of the stable and to the stall we were at previously. She hooked a small chain to both sides of his head and look off the leash.

"He's pretty!" Tori gushed

"You can pet him. He's nice."

Tori walked over and touched him

"Mommy he's so soft!"

"You too!" Lyn pointed at us

We went over and started petting him

"He's really big for a four year old." I said to Adriana

"Yeah but if Benny let's her ride him it's probably safe." She shrugged but I still felt uneasy

Lyn took a brush out of the bin and started grooming him

A little later Benjamin came back and helped her do the parts she couldn't do on her own

"You groomed him very well!" He praised and high fived her

Benjamin cleaned his hooves then wrapped his shins with blue wraps. He put a small blue blanked thing on Tango's back then placed the saddle on it. There was a belt at the bottom to prevent it from falling off.

"Put on your helmet and stand by them." Benjamin said as he grabbed the only thing I could recognize which were reigns

He put some blue ear muff things over the horses ears then expertly put on the reigns. He made it look effortless but I know if I tried I'd mess it up.
