Once they made it to the trailer park, they all gathered under the gazebo, sitting around the table. Talking one at a time about their discoveries. Ronnie tried to pry her eyes from Nancy, but she couldn't. Her sad friend, along with losing Fred so suddenly, mixed with Nancy's eyes glued on Steve. There were so many emotions she had, but it wasn't the time or place to sort through them.
"So you're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the Upside Down?" Nancy repeats.
"If the shoe fits." Steve answers.
"Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse. Now, whether or not he's doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know." Dustin mentions.
"All we know is this is something different." Max adds.
"Something new, for sure." Ronnie jumps in, fidgeting her fingers.
"Doesn't make sense." Nancy rejects.
"It's only a theory." Dustin reasons.
"No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. I mean, why them?" Nancy explains.
"Maybe they were just in the wrong place. They were both at the game." Dustin suggests.
"And near the trailer park." Max recalls.
Steve's eyebrows furrow, "We're at the trailer park."
Everyone looks around, the dead silence and the wind make it chilling.
"Uh, should we maybe not be here?" Steve offers.
"There is something about this place. Fred starting acting weird the second we got here." Nancy remembers.
"Weird as in..."
"Scared, on edge, upset." Nancy describes.
"Max said Chrissy was upset too." Dustin brings up.
"Yeah, but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school." Max counters.
Robin starts on about how predators stalk their prey, theorizing what if Fred and Chrissy saw Vecna.
"I dunno about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone." Steve comments.
"Maybe they did." Max suggests. "I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley's office. If you saw a monster, you... you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you. But you might go to your-"
"Your shrink." Ronnie agrees.
Max nods at Ronnie, then they all get up, planning to go to Ms. Kelley's house to see if they can get any information from her. Nancy starts to drift off, walking towards her car when Steve calls her out.
"Nance! Where you going?" Steve asks, catching up to her.
"Oh, there's just something I wanna check on first." Nancy answers, nonchalantly.
