After leaving the school that night, they agreed to go home if they wanted, and regroup in the morning at the Wheeler's house. Lucas being too scared to go home, Ronnie and Dustin insisted he go home with them.

When Ronnie, Lucas and Dustin made it back to the Wheeler's, Ronnie notices that Steve was in the same outfit has yesterday, meaning he must have stayed the night here. She shakes it off, taking a seat on the couch, to catch up on the reading that Nancy and Robin found.

"Okay, be honest. You guys understand any of this?" Steve asks, pacing back and forth with an old newspaper in his hand.

"No." Lucas answers.

"Pretty straightforward." Dustin says at the same time, making Steve stop in his place, lowering the paper.

"Oh, straightforward, really?" Steve remarks.

"Well, what's confusing to you?" Dustin asks, completely serious.

Steve scoffs, looking back down at the paper.

"So far, everyone Vecna has cursed has died, except for this old Victor Creel dude Nancy found." Ronnie explains.

"He's the only known survivor. If anyone knows how to beat this curse, it's him." Dustin adds.

"Yeah, that's assuming he was cursed, Henderson, which we don't even know." Steve mentions.

"How can Vecna have existed in the '50's? It doesn't make sense." Steve adds, rubbing his temples.

"I mean, as far as we know, Eleven didn't create the Upside Down. She opened a gate to it." Ronnie comments.

"The Upside Down has probably been around for thousands of years. Millions. I wouldn't be surprised if it predated the dinosaurs." Dustin suggests.

Ronnie raises her brows and tilting her head towards Dustin, like she was agreeing with him.

"Dinosaurs? What are we-"

"Okay, okay. But if a gate didn't exist in the '50s, how did Vecna get through?" Lucas cuts off Steve.

"Oh, and how's he getting through now?" Steve points at Lucas, adding to his point.

"And why now?" Lucas asks.

"And why then? Just pops out in the '50s, kills one family, and he's like, 'I'm good.' And poof, he just disappears. Just... gone? Only to return 30 years later and start killing random teens? Nah, I don't buy it." Steve theorizes.

"Straightforward, my ass. And you know what? Honestly, Henderson, a little humility now and then, it wouldn't hurt you." Steve comments.

"You too, Covey." He adds pointing at Ronnie, and she just rolls her eyes.

"Sorry." Dustin apologizes, as Steve takes a seat in front of them, crossing his legs and raising his brows at Ronnie.

"Anyone have any idea what she's writing?" Dustin asks, looking at Max in the corner of the room at a desk.
