chapter 13- friends don't lie.

"- FUCK?" I say as me and Mike realize were not falling anymore but floating.
We both get lifted back up and land onto the ground behind Dustin and the idiots.
We look to our left and see eleven walking up to us with a bloody nose.
"Ah! She broke my arm! My arm!" Troy says as his friend falls down and El brakes his arm.
"Go." El says.
"Let's get outta here! Let's go!"
"Go!" They say running away and leaving us alone.
"Yeah that's right! You better run she's our friend and she's crazy! You come back here and she'll kill you! You hear me? She'll kill you sons of bitches!" Dustin yells.
Eleven almost faints and drops to the ground.
"El are you ok? El!" Mike says.
"Mike.. I'm sorry."
"Sorry? What are you sorry for?"
"The gate.. i opened it. I'm the monster."
"W- what? You mean will is there because of you?" I say on the verge of tears.
"Nono El, your not the monster. You saved us. You understand? You saved me." He says hugging her.
Fuck. I mean she did save our asses but She opened the gate!
Me and Dustin join the hug to comfort her bit i don't feel anything. I feel numb to this situation.
We start walking to Mike's home. I don't say a word to El tho.
"Y/n.. I'm sorry.." she says.
"I know you are."
"I didn't want to.."
"Yeah, but you did."
"I.. didn't want to hurt you.."
"Look, i understand. You made a mistake. But at least you can help us fix it, help us get will back."
We get there after a few minutes.
We go inside and Mike helps her get the dirt and blood off her face.
"Shit." Dustin says as we wait for them.
"What?"
"Guys! It's Lucas i think he's in trouble." Dustin says to everyone.
We all follow him to the walkie talkie.
"Remember how he said he was looking for the gate?"
"Yeah?"
"What if he found it?"
We hear lucas yelling on the other line of the radio.
"What's he saying?"
"I don't know he's way out of range."
" --son of a bitch!-" Lucas says through the radio static.
"Lucas, if you can hear us slow down. We don't understand you."
"Yes! I copy! Do you? They know about eleven! Get her outta there they know about eleven! The bad men are coming! All of them! Do you hear me? The bad men are coming!"
"Mad hen's does that mean anything to you? Like a codename or something?"
"The bad men are coming!"
"Bad men.. bad men! Stay here!"
We leave El in the basement to check upstairs. We look through the window and see a guy watching his house in a white van.
"What's that guy doing?"
"You don't think.."
Mike goes get his mom.
"Shit Dustin there's more." I say as we see a bunch of other same exact vans pull up.
We close the windows curtain and go to Mike.
"Mike!"
"One second!"
"MIKE! We need to leave right now."
"Michael-" his mom says.
"If anyone asks me where I am i left the country!"
"What?"
We get El and head to our bikes. Once we get them we start bicking away. We see the bad men looking at us.. why does one of them look familiar to me? Not now y/n we have to run.
"Go Go go Go Go Go! Oh my god oh my god!"
"Dustin! Do you copy!"
"Yeah Lucas they're on us!"
"Where are you?"
"Cornwallis!"
"Meet me at elm and cherry!"
"Copy, elm and cherry!"
"Okay!"
The vans keep following us so we cut through a park.
"Out of the way out of the way!" We say to some kids playing there.
We get to another road and meet with Lucas.
"Lucas!"
"Where are they?"
"I don't know!"
"I think we lost them."
As soon as Dustin says that we see the vans approaching.
"Go Go Go Go!"
"Faster faster!"
"Shit shi shi shit shit!"
One of the vans appear Infront of us driving to our direction while the rest is being us.
Suddenly the van ahead us flips over us and onto the road behind our bikes, nearly missing us.
"Holy shit! Thanks El!"
We continue speeding away. After a while we stop at this place with old abandoned cars that no one ever goes to.
"Ho- holy shit! Did you see what she did to the van?"
"No Dustin, we missed it."
"I mean that was-"
"Awesome. It was awesome.. everything i said about you being a traitor and stuff.. i was wrong.. I'm sorry." Lucas says.
"Friends.. friends don't lie.. I'm sorry too."
"Me too." Mike says offering once again to shake Lucas's hand but this time he shakes it.
We sit down and Lucas starts explaining what he saw.
"This is Randolph road, right here. -he says drawing it on the dirt with a stick.- the fence goes all the way around. And this is the lab right here. The gate's gotta be in there somewhere. It's gotta be."
"Well, who owns Hawkins lab?"
"The sign says department of energy."
"Department of energy? What do you think that means?"
"It means government-"
"Yeah, military."
"Then why does it say energy?"
"Just trust us, alright? It's military my dad's told me before."
"Mike and y/n are right. There was soldiers out front."
"Do they make like, lightbulbs or something?"
"No, weapons.. to fight the Russians and commies and stuff."
"I never liked that place.."
"Weapons.."
"Oh Jesus this is bad."
"Really bad. The place is like a fortress."
"What do we do?"
"I don't know but.. we can't go home. We're fugitives now."
"G- guys, do you hear that?" Dustin asks as we hear a helicopter sound approaching.
"Shit we have to hide!"
We hide our bikes under the cars and we get inside this old bus.
"Get down!"
We all hide down on its floor.
"Mental."
After a while the walkie talkie goes off.
"Mike are you there? Mike?" We hear Nancy say.
"You guys hear that?"
"Mike it's me Nancy. Mike are you there? Answer. Mike we need you to awnser."
"Is that your sister?"
"This is an emergency mike. Do you copy? Mike do you copy?"
"Ok this is really weird."
"Don't awnser."
"She said it was an emergency!'
"What if it's a trick?"
"It's your sister!"
"What if they kidnapped her? What if they're forcing her to say this?"
"I need you to awnser."
"It's like Landon carlissian. Don't awnser."
"We need to know that your there mike- listen here kid this is the chef if your here pick up. We know your in trouble and we know about the girl."
"Why is she with the chief?"
"How the hell does he know about.."
"We can protect you, we can help you but you gotta pick up. Are you there? Do you copy? Over."
"For fuck sake mike if you don't awnser that i will drop kick your ass-"
"Yes, i copy. It's Mike. I'm here. We're here."

We wait a while for them.
