chapter 32- lies.

Today I'm going to spend the day at Mike's with the guys so i get my bike and head to his house.
Once i get there i park my bike and walk inside, going down the stairs into the basement.
"Hey guys." I say.
"Hey."
"Hey!" Will says with a smile.
"Why does Mike look so stressed?" I ask will.
"He told eleven his grandma is sick to not hangout with her."
"Why?"
"Her dad made me do it!" Mike says in a stressed tone.
"Ok then.. need help will?" I ask, sitting at the table where he is preparing the dnd game.
"Sure."
"She knows I'm lying. She knows I'm lying!"
"I don't even understand, why lie?" Lucas asks.
"Hopper. He threatened me."
"Did he say he'd kill you?"
"What? No!"
"So what's the big deal?"
"Yeah man you're making this confusing."
"The big deal is if i don't do what he says, then he'll stop me from seeing El. Like, permanently. You don't understand Lucas he's crazy! He's lost his mind."
"Hey, guys were almost set up here." Will says, talking about the game.
"I had no choice, Lucas. I really had no choice."
"I just wish you'd consulted me because the way you handled this.. you're in deep shit.-Mike groans and sits down on the couch.- I'm not gonna lie, it's gonna be bad.-mike groans again.- but.. you can fix this. It's just one little mistake. I've made hundreds, thousands! Max dumped me five times-"
"I don't know if that's something you should sound so proud of -"
"But what have I done? Huh? Have i despaired? No. I've marched back into battle and I've won her back every single freaking time."
"How?"
"I'll show you. Come on."
They go leave the room, going upstairs.
"Hey guys? We're still here!"
"Guys? Ugh, let's go will."
We both go after them.
"What are you doing?"
"We're going to starcourt. Maybe we can find El something so she forgives mike."
"Isn't it easier to just talk to her?"
"No."
"Fine, let's go."
We bike to the mall and start looking around the shops.
"I just.. i don't understand what we're looking for." Mike says.
"Something pretty and shiny that says I'm sorry."
"What, something that literally says I'm sorry?"
"No!"
I laugh at them arguing and we continue to look around.
We get into this jewelry shop and Mike sees this tiny silver bear that could go on a necklace or something.
"Excuse me sir."
"Mhm?"
"How much for the silver teddy bear right there?"
"Three hundred dollars."
Almost instantly we walk out of there.
"Three hundred? Three hundred."
"I should've shoved that teddy bear right up his ass."
"Really though, for a teddy bear?"
We go to this perfume store and start testing some to see if we like it.
"Hey Mike." Lucas says spraying perfume in Mike's direction accidentally getting it in his eyes.
"Ahh!"
I burst out laughing at what just happened.
"It wasn't even that funny!" Will says laughing at my reaction.
"I know! I don't know why it was so funny to me!" I say between laughs.
"Look i hate to break it to you guys but we don't have enough money for anything good. We should probably head back now."
"Yeah, y/ns right let's go."
We go outside to get our bikes.
"Isn't this a nice surprise?" Max says walking over to us Infront of the mall with eleven.
"What are you doing here?" Mike asks.
"Shopping." El says.
"This is her new style. What do you think?"
"What's wrong with you? You know she's not allowed to be here!"
"What is she your little pet?"
"Yeah. Am i your pet?"
"What? No!"
"Then why do you treat me like garbage?"
"What?"
"You said nana was sick."
"She is! She is sick!" He says looking at us for us to help him out.
""Yeah shes- she's sick. She's sick. She's super sick. That's why we're here actually." Lucas joins in.
Me and will don't say anything.
"Yeah yeah we're shopping. Not for us but fir her, for nana."
"For nana!"
"Also were here to get a gift for you. Just, we couldn't find anything that suited you. And i only have like $3,50 so it's hard."
"Super hard."
"That's what she said."
"Shut up!"
"My bad."
"It's expensive."
"You lie. Why do you lie? -the bus arrives and they look back at it after mike doesn't awnser.- i dump your ass." She says, then going to the bus.
"Well, that went amazing."
"We don't need your sarcasm now y/n."
"Sorry."
"Don't talk to him like that just cause you're upset." Will says, annoyed.
"Let's just go."
"Now can we play DND?" Will asks.
"No."
"They're just upset right now, i bet we can play later when they calm down." I tell will.
"Yeah.. your right."
We go back to Mike's place.
After a while of hanging out the only fucking thing Lucas and Mike have been talking about is eleven.
"I just don't understand what did i do to deserve this?"
"Really?"
"Nothing! Nothing. That's my whole point. You're the victim here."
"I know it's just why is she treating me this way? I don't know-"
"You have to be joking, right? I mean what did you expect was gonna happen?"
"No, mike-"
"What did i do wrong?" He says with his mouth full of nachos.
"Mike stop. Relax. Just relax. Ok? Stop asking rational questions."
"I know, i know you're right."
"Yeah."
"Because women act on emotion and not logic."
"Precisely. It's a total different species."
"Oh don't give me that bullshit. Just because she dumped your ass doesn't mean she's acting only on emotions all the time and that she's dramatic. Also you're obviously going to break up with someone because of emotion. That's the point of a relationship."
"Why are you defending them?"
"I'm not defending anyone i just think you two are being assholes right now."
"Whatever man."
"Guys, it's ready!" Will says, talking about the game.
"Cool."
"Will, not right now."
"They broke up with you! What else is there to talk about?"
"Exactly!"
"Tons."
"Yeah we're trying to solve the great mystery of the female species."
"Whatever. They're not gonna stop talking about it."
The rest of the day goes by the same and we go to sleep in Mike's basement.
Mike and Lucas already fell asleep.
I go sit down next to will on the couch.
"Hey, sorry we couldn't play DND today." I say, quiet enough to not wake them up.
"Yeah. All they do lately is talk about girl stuff it's like they don't even care about me or you anymore."
"They do, it's just their first relationships so they're figuring this stuff out. But hey, one thing i definitely know is that i care about you and I'll be here with you while they talk about boring girl stuff."
"Thanks y/n. I care about you too."
"Of course you do, I'm amazing~"
We talk for a while longer and fall asleep like that, next to each other.
