Chapter 1 - The Halloween Party

Quinn's POV
My step brother Billy parked his car and I got out. I popped the seat, letting my little sister Max out. She picked up her skateboard and skated away. I turned away from Billy and walked towards the high school. It may have been my first day but I didn't want to enter school with Billy. I couldn't stand him.

I entered the school and smacked into someone. My new school books toppled to the floor. As I bent down to pick them up, I noticed a pair of white Nike Cortez's with red swooshes. The person who ran into me knelt down and I saw what he looked like.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going. It's all my fault," the guy said as he began to pick up my books.

I couldn't say anything even if I tried. The guy in front of me was so good looking that I was unable to form words.

Finally, as we both stood up and he handed my books back to me, I said something.

"It's fine. Thank you for helping me pick up my books. That's very nice of you," I said with a smile. The guy nodded.

"Of course. You seem new. I've just never seen you at school before. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Steve Harrington. And you?"

I stood there not saying anything at first until I realized that he was asking for my name.

"Oh! My name is Quinn Mayfield. I just moved here. I'm in eleventh grade," I replied. Steve nodded.

"Nice to meet you. May I see your class schedule? I might be able to show you to your classes."

"Sure. Um, here. That's my schedule,"

I handed Steve my class schedule and he took the paper from me and nodded.

"Thanks. Looks like you have a couple classes with me. I'm not the smartest so my math class is the same as yours and I have a couple elective classes with you as well. If you don't mind, I can take you to your classes till you're comfortable with finding them yourself." Steve explained. I nodded.

"That would be great. Thank you." I replied. Steve shrugged.

"Of course,"

I followed Steve and he walked over to a girl with brown curly hair.

"Quinn, this is my girlfriend Nancy. She's in your grade." Steve said with a smile as he wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulder.

"It's nice to meet you," Nancy said as she shook my hand.

"Nice to meet you too," I replied.

Just then, a guy with light brown hair walked over to us.

"Oh and this is Jonathan. He's my friend," Nancy said. I noticed Nancy glance over at Jonathan with a smile. A smile that I didn't really trust. It looked as though she had feelings for Jonathan but I shook the thought away. She had a boyfriend after all.

Just at that moment, my step brother Billy entered the school. A couple of girls practically swooned at the sight of my brother and I rolled my eyes.

"Who's that?" Nancy asked with slight annoyance. I sighed.

"That's my step brother, Billy." I muttered. Steve nodded.

"He seems like..."

"A douchebag. Yeah he is," I said finishing Steve's sentence. "Why don't you just show me to my classes. I don't want to see that jerk."

"Sure. Let's go," Steve said as he began to show me the way to my first class.

During lunch, I sat with Steve and his friends. They were talking about a Halloween party that was happening tonight.
