Hopefully, the next chapter will be the end or maybe the chapter after. I will try writing it as fast as possible but since tomorrow I'm going back to work, I don't know when it will be up.

"I've been suspecting it for almost half a year. The way I found it was a bit stupid but well, I found out that you were with Shivaay way before you came back." My dad revealed and I furrowed my brows.

"How?" I asked. Did Harsh Vardan Trivedi become detective Trivedi out of nowhere?

"Actually, it was randomly. You know, Pinky still received letters from Shivaay. And one day I saw that he had written in one of his letters that his address was yours. A bit of talking with Pinky made me understand that coincidentally, Shivaay was renting an apartment in the same building as yours. So at first, I was thinking that he had probably made a mistake with his apartment number but when I saw that various of his letters had your apartment number as part of the address, I assumed that at least you were friends. You gave yourself out when you came back from London and acted as if you were strangers. And then I saw your 'paprika wedding' in the kitchen and it was the last piece of the "Are Annika and Shivaay secretly dating?" puzzle." My father would always amaze me... but at that moment, I did not know whether I should be scared or relieved or happy or... I guess you understood that I was emotionally confused.

"And what is your opinion on our relationship?" Shivaay asked as he looked down.

"What can I say Shivaay? My Anu is no longer a child. The reason why I always forbid you from always dating is not that I didn't trust you, Annika. It's because I didn't trust boys around you. I didn't want you to be heartbroken, to give your heart to the first man in your life who'll end up throwing it away once you guys finish your business under the covers. I wanted you to find the man who would value you, who would see you as both his equal and his most cherished treasure, I wanted you to find your soulmate and you just don't know how happy I am to see that you found your soulmate in Shivaay."

"But papa, aren't you scared about what people will say when they see that my partner is technically my step-brother?" Annika asked.

"I didn't care when my family said that your mother wasn't worth our family status. I didn't care when they say that a man raising two girls on his own would either abuse his own daughters or raise them as tomboys. I didn't care when they said that I'm too old to woo Pinky. Why should I care now that my daughter is happy? Don't worry about them, Annika. If you spend your life trying to please others, you will never find your own pleasure in the world."

I hugged my dad as tightly as I could as he kissed my forehead, congratulating Shivaay and me on our relationship. I could not believe my luck at that moment and regretted every moment I found my dad strict. He was not strict, he just did not to have his daughters broken by unnecessary flings. Plus, his rules actually benefited me as I could have all my firsts with Shivaay. Somehow daddy was right about saving yourself for the right person but I had to admit that some early practice with someone else would have allowed me to appear more experienced when for example Shivaay and I had our first French kiss and I did not know how to move my tongue, how to place my lips, etc...
