"An engagement ring? Where the hell did you find this idea Gauri?" I played the innocent card while fidgeting with the ring around my finger as I put my arms behind my back. Gauri wriggled her brows.

"Come on you can't fool me. A ring that beautiful can only be an engagement ring and it's on your ring finger!" Gauri persisted.

"No, it's not like that. I bought this ring with... with an antique dealer. It was cheap and I liked it. And I put it on my left hand because when I eat with my right hand I don't want to have to remove it every time and it doesn't fit on my other fingers! Happy detective Gauri?" I asked and she smiled but I could see that she wasn't that convinced.

"I love the bracelet as well Di. Can you lend it to me someday?" She asked and I made a face internally. What happened to her early in the morning?

"Thank you, and no! I can't lend this beautiful chaand bracelet to you because I got it from you jiju!" I pulled my tongue at her while she looked at me surprised.

"Annika?! You got a man in your life?" She asked clearly taken aback.

"That's for you to wonder! Am I speaking the truth or not? But you can't have this bracelet. It's a gift and I don't share gifts!" I smiled before running away to the kitchen in order to see what we were having for breakfast.

It relieved my heart to have told Gauri the truth even though I gave her the option to believe that I was kidding. I looked at my hand and wondered if I wanted to go on with pretending in front of my family and for how long... I looked in the cupboard and saw cereals so I decided that we would have cereals for breakfast. I wasn't really onto cooking anyway. I left the kitchen and made my way to the poolside.

The sun was already up in the sky and the morning breeze was playing with some strands of my hair. I didn't even realize that someone was there, I only felt some strong arms around me.

"Good morning love..." He said in my ear before kissing my cheek.

"Good morning baby." I answered and stroked his arm.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked as we sat on a deck chair.

"Yeah, but my pillow left me in the wee hours of morning." I said and he chuchkled.

"I also slept well with my favourite doll in my arms." Shivaay said and I smiled.

"Gauri will soon find out about us. She's a bit nosy and I don't want her to find about us in an unexpected way."

"Do you want us to tell her?" Shivaay asked.

"Yes. And we can share this with Rudra as well. If we explain what's happening between us, we may get their support when we'll have to tell the truth to our parents." I said and Shivaay hummed.

"Okay then. Let's take advantage of these few days with them and tell them about us. But promise me that whatever the consequences are, you and I are not separating." Shivaay said and I kissed his palm.

"Never." We left the poolside when we heard Om and Rudra talking inside. They couldn't see how close we were on that deck chair since we were against the wall on which were the sliding doors to access the poolside.

"Bhaiya! Di! You're already up?" Rudra said while Omkara just glared at us. I couldn't care less to be honest. He had nothing to say in mine and Shivaay's relationship.

"Yes. I slept early yesterday so I woke up early." Shivaay said and went to the kitchen.

"I guess you were busy knowing more about each other, right?" Omkara said with a tinge of sarcasm.

"I already know what's necessary to know about him Omkara, so no we weren't knowing more about each other, we were just chilling." I rolled my eyes and made my way to the kitchen. He had definitely no right to reproach us our relationship. If he cared about Shivaay he could have told him about his mother getting married but it looked like our two families were fond of keeping secrets.

As I joined Shivaay, he looked concerned but I didn't know why.

"Shivaay?" I said while brushing his chin.

"Om is starting to get on my nerves. I think we shall talk to him. He cannot blame us for something as pure as love." Shivaay said and kissed my fingers. I guessed he witnessed our talk in the living room.

"I think that I shall talk to him. He will probably get our point of view." I suggested.

"But I know him better."

"Yes, right. But you're impulsive. Sometimes you claim that you love me in such a way that I fear that you'd punch me." I laughed. "Let me talk to him, I'm sweeter." I said and he hummed. I smiled and we pulled apart right in time as Rudra, Gauri and Omkara made their way in the kitchen. We ate breakfast then decided to prepare some snacks to go near the river and have a picnic.

The way to the river was funny with Rudra holding me like his best friend, Shivaay fuming because of his jealousy, Gauri chirping around like an excited bird and Omkara being Omkara... glaring at Shivaay and I... Such a kiddo he was, to be honest.

"Wow! This place is breathtaking! Gauri come take pictures of me for my Instagram feed!" Rudra said and took Gauri's hand, leading her next to the river, near some trees.

"Guys don't go near the river, it can be dangerous!" I shouted hoping that they could hear me despite their giggles. Shivaay, Omkara and I placed a blanket on the floor and put our stuff on it before sitting on the blanket.

"Omkara... I want us to have a good brother sister relationship... I mean I never felt that I needed brothers in my life until I met you and Rudra yesterday. I want to know what's bothering you about Shivaay's and I's relationship? I am tired of your coldness, you know."

"What's bothering me? As if you don't know! You're siblings, you're having an incest relationship!" Omkara said.

"What we're having is not incest Omkara. Had I known that my father was married to his mother, had I been raised with Shivaay as my brother I would have not fallen for him. But both didn't happen. Our love flourished just like our parents'. Our love has the same right to live as our parents'. I would always respect our parents' relationship despite me not liking it at all but I cannot accept the idea that I have to treat my love as a sibling. You are an artist, you must understanding feelings better than any other person in this world. Understand the importance of our love for our parents' and for each other." I said with a ray of hope engulfing my heart.

"You really found a precious pearl Shivaay." Omkara began. "I heard what Shivaay said... I just wanted to see if you had the guts to defend your relationship as well." He smiled. "I'm happy for you two guys and I hope you two stay together. You can count on me to help with Choti maa and Choti papa when time will come." I smiled warmly at Omkara and shared an eye-lock with Shivaay. At least Omkara was on our side!
