Hannah's P.O.V

I had seen Derek dart away a few seconds too late. I didn't understand. I thought he liked me. Or maybe one of my friends was his ex? No, no, no. He'd tell me that, wouldn't he? Yeah he would, I trust him to. But it still hurt that he didn't say hi. I recognized one of Derek's friends in the large ensemble that was heading towards us. He saw me too.

"Hey Hannah!" Daniel, his friend, called. I nodded to acknowledge him. He strided over to me, weaving through the crowd of my friends and his. I doubt that Derek had said anything about us, but Daniel met me at Derek's house a while back and automatically assumed we were friends. We were back then...

" Oh, you looking for Derek? He's around here somew- " Daniel began, then spotted Derek's retreating back.

" Well he was here. Probably had to get home early or something. Hey who's that over there? " he asked me, gesturing to Maria.

" Could you like, introduce me? " Daniel hinted, his green eyes glinting. I rolled my eyes and began to walk away. Boys are all the same!

Maria, as if on cue, turned up 'cos she had noticed that I was leaving.

"What's the matter Han?"

"Err, nothing. I was just talking to Daniel over here. But I'm going to go now so I was wondering if you could keep him company? " I told her slyly, trying to hide the small amount of hurt in my voice. It made me feel a bit better when I'd spotted Daniel going slightly red. He ran a hand through his already messy hair a few times too; obvious signs of nervousness.

"Yeah, sure thing Hannah! " Maria chirped "Come along Daniel!" she looped her arm through his and dragged him off. He looked back over his shoulder and mouthed a silent "thanks". I smiled and turned towards the bus stop.

I wasn't going to get upset. I wasn't going to snap at him. "Nope," I thought to myself on the bus journey home. But I was going to get revenge. Huh, that sounded scary. Not in that way though, a somewhat childish form of revenge is, lets say, more my style...

Derek's P.O.V

I decided to get off early and walk the remainder of the way to Hannah's place.I realised that because I'd left Leewood before her,Hannah'd take some time getting home. So I took a lot of detours and went around in circles until I was sure she'd had enough time to get back.

I made my way over to the house and pressed the doorbell. I was busy examining everything on the street when she opened the door.

I guessed that I hadn't given Hannah long enough because she was still in her school uniform: a white shirt and not-so-short skirt.( I don't really understand why girls like prancing about in skirts shorter than the average text message. It seems too desperate...)

She looked like a little school girl. Ha! I dared not say that to her face; I don't think I'd enjoy being punched repeatedly.

In the face.

I was still taking in her uniform and didn't hear when she greeted me.

"Derek! I told you to stop doing that!" she whined. "Shut the door behind you when you've put your tongue back in your mouth," Hannah said in a cheery tone. I came in quickly and shut the door. Hannah was already heading upstairs. I just stood there, stupidly staring up after her.

"Eyes front soldier!" Hannah jokingly said over her shoulder. I felt myself go hot. Then I followed her up.

We went into her bedroom. It wasn't like I remembered. The girly pink walls had been replaced with a soft purple, the posters of baby animals had been swapped for those of bands and male singers (there were lots of this guy called Olly Murs). One wall was devoted to school pictures. I recognised a 5 year old Hannah all dressed up in her primary school uniform.

"That is one cute little girl," I murmured.

"What was that Derek?" Hannah yelled from the bathroom nextdoor.

"Nothing!" I replied, smiling to myself.

I took off my blazer and hung it on the end of the bed. I was just about to take a seat at the desk when Hannah let out an ear-splitting shriek. I got up and ran out of the room only to bump into a very wet looking Hannah.

"What happened?" I asked, trying to stop myself from bursting out laughing. Her clothes were completely sodden and her dark hair was plastered onto her face.

"T-t-the shower turned on when I was trying to shut its door,"she complained while shivering a bit.

"Aw, come here," I mused with my arms out. She shuffled over to me.

"Wow, you really are wet," I mumbled into her ear.

"Oi, naughty," she commented, giggling a little. I didn't get what she meant until a few seconds later.

"God, you really are messed up. What happened to my innocent little Hannah?" I asked playfully.

"She took a little holiday," Hannah whispered. I felt her arms move from around my neck, down to my waist. I lifted my head off her shoulder and looked at her hard, to figure out if she was teasing.

"Oh really?" I asked cheekily. "I'd rather have that Hannah than the soaked little monkey I'm holding now," I muttered. She giggled like a kid again. That did it, I think. I lowered myself to her slowly and leant foward to kiss her.

I never got that kiss. Not exactly anyway...
