Out of all the grand prixs you'd attended over the years as Mrs Ricciardo, some more stressful then others, the Mexican race weekend had to be one of your favourites. You just loved the hustle and bustle of the city, the food - tacos had been your favourite ever since you were little, and of course the people who were always smiling.

For some reason the fans were also fond of you, normally you were used to receiving unwanted comments from various jealous women as you made your way to the hospitality hand in hand but due to the limited Spanish you'd learnt for your a-level exam all those years ago, you wouldn't say you were fluent, but you could communicate effectively enough. It was Friday today, practice 2 due in a few hours, and so it was more relaxed in terms of the entrance to the paddock, Daniel taking his time to attend fans on either sides of the barrier. You always tried to help where you could, bringing shirts over for Daniel to sign, directing him to particularly eager fans, or those who weren't as easily accessible.

"Daniel! Honey badger!" The fans called to your husband, requesting autographs and pictures where they could. Occasionally people took photos with you as well which you were of course flattered by, never in a million years would you have thought people would want to take a photo but you suppose you should of seen that coming when THE Daniel Ricciardo fell in love with you a decade ago. "Y/n! ¿Podrías hacer que Daniel firme esto?" A young girl with large brown eyes asked and you melted at the sight. "Of course I can!" You replied with a warm smile to the young and budding formula one enthusiast, "Dan could you come over here!" You called to Australian who smiled for a camera before turning to you. "Of course baby hang on a sec" he replied, finishing up where he was.

You gasped slightly at the feel of someone else's touch but chuckled when a handsome young man tucked a stunningly orange dahlia into your hair right behind your ear. You grinned at the nice gesture of this young man, the flower matching your dress that you'd specially picked out, "this flower is almost as beautiful as you, hermosa, I have brought it from my garden especially as a token of Mexico for you" he purred alluringly with a thick Hispanic accent. "Um thankyou" you replied as your cheeks flushed red, your husband was the only one who ever complimented you like this and you were unsure how to respond. The man flashed a grin showing of his pearly teeth that contrasted with his attractive tanned skin, awaiting your response .

All of a sudden you felt Daniel's arm wrap around your waist protectively, "what's going on over here?" He asked playfully but his fingers gripped tighter on your hip when he noticed the young man who was very close to you. "I was just telling this beautiful lady how gorgeous she is" the Mexican replied and sent a wink your way making you laugh uncomfortably, you had a habit of laughing when you were nervous or in an awkward situation. "Well sorry mate but I put a ring on her finger years ago, she's mine." He bit out the last two words with clenched teeth, you knew your husband was prone to being jealous but perhaps this might've been an overreaction. The young man sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes, disappearing into the crowd, obviously disappointed by the outcome of his flirtatious manner.

"If you called me over just to make me jealous darling, it's certainly working" Daniel growled lowly in your ear, so only you could hear. "What no!" You exclaimed and slapped his arm playfully at his accusation, "this wonderful little girl wanted you to sign her hat!"

"Oh" Daniel realised and looked at the eager child who held her McLaren hat out to him expectantly, "of course!" He smiled and took the lid off his sharpie and held it in his teeth, scribbling his signature on the merchandise. A few minutes later he placed his arm around your shoulder and steered you towards the McLaren hospitality deciding he'd spent enough time with the fans, "it was lovely to meet you all!" He chimed as you left the entrance way, some people groaning as they hoped you may have stuck around for longer.

"They really love you here don't they?" Daniel reflected on the entrance and how the fans had clearly taken a liking to you over the years, a reoccurring admirable attitude towards you displayed by the race viewers in Mexico. "I suppose" you mumbled, hugging more closely into Daniel's side as you walked. Even after all the years of attendance to the grand prixs, the clicking of cameras from the paparazzi and news agencies still managed to unsettle you, Daniel had taken extra care over time to shield you from the media though it was inevitable to be photographed. This is why as parents you'd agreed to not take your children to the race weekends until they were older, they were staying with their grandparents this weekend. "I can't believe that guy" The McLaren driver mumbled as he noticed the media people were keen to snap a few shots of the Mexican flower in your hair, unaware of who it had been gifted by. "Oh shush, he was joking" you whispered in is ear. The gesture made for a picture would be later posted on multiple Instagram pages, viewers wondering what you were talking about as a couple in such a hushed manner.

"He definitely wasn't joking" Daniel rolled his eyes but kissed your cheek lovingly, thinking about he was incredibly grateful for you and so glad he'd married you, even if it did mean your stunning beauty happened  attract some unwanted attention from time to time.
