Chapter 24

AN: after a long time, I updated this story again.

Chapter 24: First Antagonist

          When I regained consciousness, I was feeling weak and felt that my head was hit by a very hard stone. Other than feeling weak and having a headache, I feel restricted. I opened my eyes and assess my situation. But before I could do that, I heard a somewhat familiar voice beside me.

" It's good that you are already awake Voothcraft-san. "

It was Aria Neptunia. Supposedly, if you wake up and found a beautiful girl beside you, then you should be glad. But then I notice that the feeling of me being restricted was because I was bound together in a rope with her. In the circumstance of being bound together in a rope with a beautiful girl, a single guy would be glad... But it was different for me. And considering what happened before I found myself tied up with Aria, there's nothing to be happy about ending up as a sacrifice to a Greek snake monster.

Looking around, in the few distances away from us, I could see Medraut and Chris Hans tied up together and with the president of the cooking, club talking with them. I can't hear what is she saying but judging from Medraut's glare and Chris Hans's cold expression, it is nothing good.

The president of the Cooking Club. One of the Antagonists that you would encounter in this Dating Sim Game. Aside from Capture Targets and Rivals, characters like Antagonist exist. Unlike the capture targets and rivals which you could capture as the protagonist in the female and male versions and exist as something to romance and capture their hearts, Antagonist characters are different.

Despite being a dating sim game, there are major plot points that exist in the game. Those major plot points are the thing that drives the story forward and unlocks new capture targets that you can romance.

The Major plot points of the dating sim game are something that you must successfully clear or else you would automatically fail the story.

In every Major plot point, there exists an Antagonist that the Protagonist must defeat. That's right, Defeat. Unlike the capture targets, the Antagonist characters are characters that you can't romance in the dating sim game.

When it is my first time playing the game, when I encountered a Major Plot point, I couldn't help but complain. Since this is a dating sim game, why is there a need for adventure and RPG plug-ins?

But as I progress in the dating sim game feeling both engrossed and coming mentally scarred as I delve deeper, I got used to it.

Even though I hate some of the elements added to the dating sim game, overall I very much like the game itself and the story.

" Oh, it seems that everyone has woken up now. "

The very first Antagonist of the Dating Sim. The president of the cooking club of Daydream Academy. The title of the very first antagonist sounds silly but there was nothing silly and a joke about her.

Noticing that I am already awake, after caressing Chris Hans's face much to the latter's disgust, the very first antagonist of this dating sim Echidna approached us.

After we witness her attacking Medraut, she didn't dilly-dally further and decided to knock him out. And after knocking out Medraut who has the highest offensive capability among the four of us, everything was easy for Echidna.

Chris Hans was just a writer who have a very special Ability... Taking him down was like taking down an ordinary human. Aria Neptunia was a mermaid with water magic that relays on her environment. The communication room is a weakness. So she's completely useless. I on the other hand was capable of an illusion that deceives the sense of hearing. But before I could retaliate, I was knocked out by Echidna's magic.

It was concluded that we are all defeated by her and she didn't even look like she break a sweat on fighting us except Medraut.

According to the dating sim game, Echidna is the easiest antagonist to defeat. And she was even easier to defeat if you choose a very easy route.

But if you choose the opposite, then good luck struggling.

And accordance with the rules of the dating sim game, this world would adopt those things. And because we have 2 foolish protagonists that chose 2 difficult routes then defeating the very first antagonist of this story would be difficult.

And now that 2 protagonists are existing, I wonder if the power levels of the antagonists are doubled.

It was a thought that I dreaded to confirm inside my mind when I was presented with the 2 protagonists of this world. And now that there was kidnapped Medraut with us, (even when he shouldn't be here with Aria and Hans in the first place) I can confirm my speculations.

Echidna then raise Aria's chin as she stared at Aria who was glaring at her.

" Other than my intended target which would be my last target this year for the sacrifice, I have encountered unexpected gains. "

Echidna then glances at me.

" Little one, I should thank you for bringing an Arthurian Legend Member to me. "

Her words were fond and soft as she talk to me. But despite those, all I can feel is fear and my body turning cold.

With my fear, I also have no time to acknowledge that Medraut was observing and following me in the distance.

I could only focus on the fact that Echidna is terrifying despite her kind and sweet words. And it was only proven by her next few words.

" How about you become an appetizer for my husband's meal together with the writer's creation? "

Here it is... The dreaded words. And it was also disheartening to hear that I am not part of the main dish. If possible, I would like to prolong my life and survival. And hoping that there would be a hero to save the day. I don't care who it is... As long as we would be saved.

If Medraut could, he could have possibly escaped from this restriction. But the rope that Echidna used to bind us is no ordinary rope. While being restricted, I could feel that my mana is being constantly sucked out of me.

Gazing at Echidna and thinking of our current circumstances, there is only one thing that I could do.

Echidna look surprised for a second before her expression turned into amusement.

" I apologize little one, but that position already belongs to Medraut. "

" I see. Miss President, you know that I am not a very appetizing food. Your husband may not like me. What would happen if you're husband is disgusted by your cooking? You would certainly lose his favor. "

" Don't worry little one, my husband isn't a choosy one. I'm sure that you would be a great appetizer with him together with the little mermaid beside you. "

Humming, Echidna then took out a mirror and glanced at us.

" Oh, it's time. "

Fuck.. It didn't work... I don't want to be teleported away from the academy and ended up as a sacrifice.

Gritting my teeth I ignore the constant drain of mana that I am experiencing and force myself to activate a single spell.

Illusion spells no matter how real it is being fake.

Illusion spells aren't offensive. But they are a very useful tool for distractions.

Before I lose consciousness again, I hoped the thought that I inserted into my spell would serve as a useful distraction.

For some unknown reason, the 2 protagonists' names can't be understood and deciphered by the beings of this world. That thing didn't exist in the plot.

Is it because they don't have a canon name in the dating sim game or is the world preventing their name to be understood?

I am hoping that it is the latter and my theory is correct. That was my last thought before losing consciousness again.
