Izuku stared at the light blue sky as he took a long deep breathe. This was the first time that he was outside the castle with just one knight with him after a very long time of staying inside. He had been so occupied with taking care of Kei and then prioritise himself and looking after the castle that he didn't have any opportunity to ever leave the walls of the castle. Alot of things change after the birth of a child in an Omega's body and honestly Izuku was not ready for the change.
His body had taken a huge hit and which was a constant reminder to him everytime he looked at the mirror. His heats were non-existant for a while and so was his desire to be with his husband alone in their chambers. The constant state of anxiety and fear that his husband no longer would want him because of how his body looked now after the birth made him so on edge everytime the Alpha tried to initiate any intimacy. Katsuki did not entertain his mate's anxieties even a little and made sure that he was heard and understood by the greenette everytime he said how much he loved him and how beautiful he was. Not only Katsuki but even Mitsuki, Kendo and Asui made sure to remind the greenette that he was known to be the most beautiful Omega in the Kingdom and he still holds that title. The only reason people no longer openly discuss his beauty is because he is now a Duchess and his husband would bite the head off of anyone who speaks about his mate's beauty so openly. That did help calm the Omega down but the anxiety still crept up when he least expected it.
Izuku also felt the constant worry of his new pup as well, over everything else he felt. His body ached in more places and he was tired faster now. Kei was a little pup and he was the sole heir to the richest and largest estate in Ivana which was a dangerous title to have for a little defenseless pup. He worried for Kei's safety after having seen the history of how frequently Ruby was attacked in the past. But he was also aware of how hard Katsuki had been working to make sure the safety of Ruby is never breached again and for the past two years, Katsuki has successed in maintaining the safety and security of Ruby well. But no matter how safe he felt, that constant worry stayed in his mind. These were only few of the changes that he felt in him but there were so many underlying changes that he slowly felt as time passed.
But his body did start to go back to what it was after a few months after the birth. His hormones were slowly getting more and more stable as time passed on and his protectiveness over his son slowly evened out. Mitsuki was a big help to the Duchess and the presence of a mother figure who knew what he was going through and help him through it all was comforting. Motherhood was something that an Omega was grown to embrace and live for. Taking care of pups and birthing them is the one duty that an Omega has been taught even as a child. But no one really talks about how hard child birth is and how difficult it is after the birth. How painful few changes are and how long it takes for everything to slowly start to feel normal. But the truth of the matter is, Izuku doesn't feel the same. No one really does after child birth, they have a new normal and the previous life they had is just gone and they are forced to accept that and embrace it.
Izuku shook his head and blinked as a soft yet firm voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He regained a smile at the grey haired man standing in front of him. He cleared his throat and gave an apologetic smile.
