Kokichis pov (aged eight)
I sighed as I lay on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I finished my homework ages ago and big sis isn't coming home for a long time, so I'm stuck doing nothing but watching the minutes crawl by.
Normally I'd watch TV or something but all the boring adult shows are on today. I don't want to listen to women complaining about how terrible men are, I want to watch robots rocket launch bad guys into space for crying out loud!
"I'm bored" I muttered to myself "oh man I'm so hopelessly hopelessly bored!"
I stared at the ceiling, willing for something to happen but nothing did. I sighed as I closed my eyes. Is it possible to die of boredom? Cause if it is big sis might be coming home to a-
My thoughts were cut off by the clinking sound of the post being delivered. My eyes lit up. Finally something to do!
I raced out of my room and slid onto the carpet where a single letter lay. I ripped it open and peeked inside. What I saw left me shaking.
ENERGY BILL MUST BE PAID IN UNDER TWENTY-FOUR HOURS OR ALL ELECTRICITY WILL BE SHUT DOWN.
All electricity? But that means no more TV, light and cooker! Without a cooker we won't be able to cook food and without food we'll all die! Oh man this is really bad!
