I just want you to be happy

Fluff! (Platonic!)
Current/Decay era!

"I'm not going" I said blankly. "No one is gonna save me, no one can"
"You're going! I don't want your depression and insanity ruining this family!" My mother yelled.
"The only thing you're worried about is your reputation"
"Just get your things and leave!"
"Fine"

I went to my room and took my already packed up things.
"He'll be here shortly" my mother smiled. "I'm gonna miss you" she opened her arms to hug me and I stepped back.
"Do not lie to me and do not touch me" I said. "I know you're glad I'm going away"
"I-"
"Don't worry dear mother, I'm not coming back"

I walked out of the house and waited outside until a black car pulled up.
"Are you Y/N Y/L/N?" A man asked.
"Sadly, yes" I answered. "Who are you?"
"I'm gonna take you in and help you"
"Help me? Once you try, you'll realize that it's too late for that"
"But you can't stop me from trying"
"What's your name?"
"Gerard Way"

I got into the back of the car and he stared driving.
He drove for about 3 hours before we stopped.

"We're here" Gerard said. "Let's go"
We got out of the car and I took my things.
He took me inside and showed me the fairly empty room that would now be mine.
"Dinner is in 20 minutes" he said. "You're free to do what you want but you're not allowed outside before we go over the rules"
"Okay" I said.
"I'll be in the kitchen if you need me"
I nodded and he left the room.

I set my bags down and started unpacking.
I set my comics and other books on the shelf and some CDs on the shelf under them.
I put my clothes into the closet and set my laptop on my desk.

"Y/N I forgot to ask, why did your parents want you out?" Gerard came to ask.
"Because I have anxiety and depression and I'm autistic" I said, putting my mirror up. "They don't care about me. They only care about their reputation"
"I understand how you feel"
"No, you don't. You don't understand what it's like"
"Y/N dear, I've been suicidal, an alcoholic, depressed and I understand you"
I looked up at him in surprise.
"Y/N I felt like no one understood me but a lot of people did. You are not alone in this"
I could feel the tears in my eyes.
"You'll get past it and you'll fall in love with life again"
I could feel a tear slide down my cheek.
Gerard walked over to me and hugged me.
I pressed my face against his shoulder and started sobbing.
"I'll help you" he whispered softly. "I can promise you that"
He stroked my hair. "I will give you the safety you need, I will love you if no one else will"
He pushed a strand of hair off my face and smiled. "Now c'mon, dinner time"

He took me to the dinner table and gave me a plate with some steak and mashed potatoes.
"Eat up kid" he said. "Then we'll go over the rules"
"Okay" I mumbled, wiping my eyes on my sleeve.
"You okay?"
I nodded and smiled slightly.
Gerard smiled and started eating.

After we were done Gerard started going over the rules.
"Rule number 1. Don't curse all the time.
Number 2. If you're not feeling well, physically or mentally, tell me.
Number 3. No alcohol or smoking because you're underage.
Number 4. Do not leave the house by yourself after dark, either I take you or I come with you.
Number 5. If you're hungry, you can eat anything in the kitchen unless it has my name on it.
Number 6. If you have a nightmare or can't sleep alone in your room for any other reason, you come sleep next to me" he listed. "Okay?"
"Yes"
"Now, do you wanna watch a movie with me?"
"Yeah"

We sat down on the couch and Gerard turned on the tv.
I curled up next to him and yawned.
"Are you tired?" He asked.
"Kinda" I mumbled.
He put an arm around me and pulled me closer to him. "I don't mind if you fall asleep"
He put on a movie and I closed my eyes, the bright light slightly annoying me.
Gerard scratched my head softly and I smiled.
There was an instant bond between us.
I trusted him without hesitation.
I soon fell asleep.
