Revenge Mikey!

I sat on an old swing set at the edge of the forest.
I looked into the sunset and sighed.
"Hey" someone said.
I turned around and saw a boy, but not just some random boy, he was my old friend.
"Mikey" I sighed.
"What are you doing here all alone?" He sat on the swing next to me and looked at me.
"I come here every day to think"
"What are you thinking about today?"
His voice was quiet and soft.
"Well I- Uhm- I'll be a part of that sunset one day" my voice broke slightly. "That's when someone else can come sit here every day"

Mikey took my hand and smiled, something that I haven't seen much.
"I'll make sure that I won't see you in those colors too soon" he said. "When you feel bad you can call me and we can come here together"
I felt a tear escape my eye and he placed a hand on my cheek.
"Everything is okay" he wiped it away.
"I- I don't think I've ever s-seen you smile" I said. "Y-you look adorable"
He smiled again and his cheeks turned slightly pink. "Thank you"

"Can I walk you home tonight?" He asked.
"Yeah" I smiled, getting up from the swing.
He got up too and offered me his hand.
I took it and he held it so softly.
I walked really close to him because the forest is kind of creepy in the dark.
Mikey was humming slightly and I closed my eyes, listening.
He caressed my hand with his thumb and leaned closer to me.

"I feel like everything is still the same, you know?" He said finally. "We're still close, even though we haven't seen each other in a couple years"
"Yeah, it's comforting to know that somethings will stay the same" I sighed.
"Yeah"
"Are you planning to leave this place?"
"No, this is where I wanna live, as long as you stay too"
I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"In that case I'll stay"

We got to my house and Mikey let go of my hand.
"I'll see you tomorrow evening, at the swings" he said.
"Wait-" I blurted out, stopping him
He raised an eyebrow at me and I pulled him into a hug.
"I missed you Mikey"
"I missed you too" he hugged me tightly and smiled. "Bye Y/N"
"Bye Mikey"
He let go and I just stood there.
He left and I walked into my house.

I slumped onto the couch and smiled, finally happy for once.

The next evening...

I was sobbing uncontrollably as I sat on the swing.
My eyes were red and glistening with tears.
I heard footsteps approach me and looked up.
"Mikey" I sobbed.
"What's wrong?" He asked, siting down next to me.
I just shook my head and sniffled.
He took my hand and held it softly.
"It's okay Y/N" he caressed my hand with his thumb and smiled. "I'm right here"
I sniffled and he hugged me.

Mikey held me close and took care of me for the night. He walked me home, got me food and made sure I slept.
He stayed for the night this time and made sure I was okay, he stayed awake for hours with me.

"Y/N?" He asked.
"Y-yeah..?" I answered, looking into his eyes.
"Would you... would you like to go on a date with me?"
I blushed and nodded vigorously.
"Yes please!"
I sat up and smiled. "I would love to"
He hugged me tightly and we stayed there for a moment before he pulled away.

"I really, really like you" he sighed. "You're so amazing"
I stared at him and my face went red.
"It's okay if you don't like me back-! I just-!"
"I like you too Mikey"

6 months later...

I sat on the swings, staring into the sunset.
The colors, oh the colors are something that I want to be part of.
I stood up and walked towards the cliff slowly.
One more step and I'll be one with the sunset.

"Y/N!" I heard Mikey's voice.
I stopped in my tracks and took a step back.
"Y/N?"
I turned around and he smiles at me softly.
"I know.. I know we've had some struggles but uhm-" he got down on one knee. "Will you marry me..?"
I stared at him, excited, nervous, confused and happy.
"Yes... yes! I will! I- oh my god! We're gonna get married!?" I squealed, all of my worries slipping away.
Mikey hugged me tightly and we both fell onto the grass.

"I love you so much!" I yelled.
"I love you more!!" He smiled, kissing me all over my face.
I giggled and closed my eyes.
"You're my world Mikey"
"You're my everything" he kissed my lips, finally. "And you always will be"
I smiled and kissed him back.
