Chapter 21

Delia's Pov

I kept on helding Edmund's hand while he was in a deep sleep, why isn't he still awake? The medician said he's fine now but he is not waking up, getting even more worried if that Ares will come back here.

Closing my eyes as I released a sigh of stress, when will I get back home? I'm getting comfortable in this world as if I live here which I don't. My mind drifts of to my another confused brain, what happens if I die in this world. Will I wake up and find myself in the real world or I'll also die in the present?

I was shivering of the thought of dying, I still need to go back even if mother hurts me again. I belong in the real world and not inside a book, I need to go back whether I like it or not.

Because this is all getting too real for me, I started to feel pain and sadness even if it's not all real. This is just a story and nothing else should affect me. A few minutes later, Edmund started to move his hand and I quickly stood up, looking at him worriedly.

You said nothing should affect you, I pushed off my thoughts and caressed Edmund's hand "Edmund, you're awake" I said almost like a whisper, he slowly opened his eyes and mumbled my name "Delia" I smiled in relief, He is fine, awake and alive!

I nearly jumped out of relief and happiness, I stopped the urge to hug him as he was still on recovery of his wound "Don't move" I said worriedly and he stopped trying to get up "what happened, where were we?" He asked while looking around curiously of the beautiful room he is in.

I looked down at his hand while I calm him down "We are in Ares's home i guess?, this is probably a mansion- ah i mean a manor" I replied, Edmund looked up to me with a frown "Probably?" I nodded and looked around "I didn't get to look better of what kind of place we are now but all I know is like we are in top of the mountain or hill?" I said unsurely.

Edmund got even more confuse but I quickly said "Nevermind where we are, the one we are to mind is how we get out of here" I said and he furrowed his brows "By the door" He said and I shook my head "Ares wont let you or me leave this place" I said quickly and Edmund clenched his jaw before trying to sit up.

I quickly help him "That monster again, He hurted you delia" He said with angry eyes, I shake my head and smiled "I'm so fine in health, you only need to be worry is about yourself. You are not fully recover now lay back down" I said while guiding him.

Edmund shake his head and stopped me "no, i wont spend 1 second living with a monster who hurted people. Let's get out of here, delia" He said grabbing my hand, I widened my eyes "Not yet, not now. You are not fully cover, lay back down" I said worriedly.

"Dont be worry of me, I only felt pain when a monster hurted my friend" he said and I got touched in awe of his words. "But we have to go now before that monster shows up" He said before grabbing my hand and pulling me to the door.

When edmund twisted the doorknob open, we both froze in our places as Ares was already standing infront of the door "go? No one is going anywhere" He said while looking both of us, no. This cant be happening.

"Ares, listen you need to understand that we need to go back to our homes. I-i appreciate your kindness but we have to go now" I said, acting being kind and soft while inside I hid my fear and stuttering. Ares looked down to me with an interesting look before his gaze turned dark when he watch Edmund.

Edmund controlled his anger inside as he gaze back at Ares with a death glare, the atmosphere getting tense "As I was saying Ares, we are thanking you for the good hand. Bye" I said and dragged Edmund out of the room.

We stopped our feet from walking as we heard Ares "I didn't say you could leave, Delia" He said, I looked at Edmund as we made eye contact before nodding my head and whispered "go" we then both ran through the hallways in a quick move.

"Guards! Catch them!" I hear Ares's shout and we both hurriedly ran the long staircase before running straightly "Stop!" A few guards stopped infront of us and Edmund and I escaped through the guard's between their legs as we successfully made out of the place together.

We kept running till we got out of the gate, wait. I turned my head around to see while still running, it was not a manor. T'was a castle! We stayed in the castle but why did Ares stayed there, does he live here? I shake my thoughts off as I continued to run with Edmund.

Ares's Pov

I walked with my heavy yet powerful steps through the room, William saw me and smiled but faded them when he saw me in a bad mood. I kept a straight and cold face "Let's go, we need to chase someone" I said while getting my cloak on.

William furrowed his brows "what's wrong?" He asked, I replied "Delia and the bastard escaped" William frowned and chuckled "Just let them go, it's not like you dont know where they live" He said, I did not think of that as a relief but it made me angrier to think what if Delia and edmund will leave the kingdom?

I clenched my fist and grabbed my glove and hat "allons-y!" I yelled before walking out, william quickly followed me from behind. This woman is driving me insane, no woman would ever reject me besides Delia. She is different from others.

When women want me, I dont. But when I want this woman. She dont. But I wont let this strange woman leave my life or my sight, I never lose one single diamond and for sure this time i will be the one to get it. Hopping on my horse "Hyah!" William on his horse followed behind.

Delia's Pov

Edmund and I hurriedly packed a few things before we finished, I know Ares is going to find me no matter what but I'll make sure this time i wont let him. He is acting so strange and possessive towards me, he almost killed my friend and now if he caught me again. I'd be dead just by seeing him again.

"Hurry up, delia we need to go!" Edmund said quickly, I held my things and put it behind the carriage "Get in!" He said, we both walked inside the wagon and Edmund paid the coachman some 5 gold coins. The carriage starts moving.

Edmund released a sigh in relief "dont worry, We wont see him again. I know a kingdom and a place to stay, a friend of mine lives there" He said, I nodded and held my chest "I cant explain this but i feel like committing a crime" I said and Edmund frowned his brows "Hey, hey. Dont feel that way, that Ares should be the one to feel this. He hurted people and almost killed me" He replied.

I calmed myself down and closed my eyes before nodding my head "Get some rest, we'll be out of this kingdom" He said and I shook my head "I wont rest until we got out of the main gate of the Kingdom" I said, I can feel my heart beating in worry.

What if he'll find me and never give up? No, dont think like that. He needs to stop his possessive strange behaviour towards me and that'll stop when i leave, for sure he will forget me and find someone to be possessive with, A girl who agrees to everything he wants. He should leave me before because I never took interests on him.

Suddenly the wagon stopped, I freaked out. Are we doomed? I peeked outside the small window of the carriage to see a guard asking the coachman of the reason of leaving the kingdom. Oh, wow. Great security they have before. They wanted to make sure everything is fine and perfect.

The coachman and guard talked with their language before they both nodded their head in agreement and the gate was opened, My heart dropped in relief. No more worries now, I peeked to the right side of the carriage to see a dark horses "Stop in the name of the King!" Someone said in a loud and clear voice.

I looked at Edmund with wide eyes, He held my hand to stop me from worrying but no this is all going to happen and were doomed for eternity!
