" So you're bravely refusing to fight a damsel half you age? "

" ABSOLUTELY NOT! " - Exclaimed Edmund.

" Why the bloody not? I am surely better with the Spear, but I believe I can take on an old tyrant that plays good king with a sword! " - Retorted Olivia.

Caspian had suggested the idea of a duel, in which everyone agreed to. Olivia then had come forth, suggesting that she could be the one to face Miraz. Edmund had become outraged.

" It's not that! It's just- "

" It's what? " - Asked Olivia, stepping forward her fiancée. - " You don't think I can face him? "

" I know you can! " - Edmund defended.

" So what is the problem then? " - Asked Olivia.

" I can't risk losing you! Miraz is a dirty fighter, and he won't hesitate to kill you if he has the opportunity. " - Yelled Edmund, bursting out.

And suddenly, the room grew quiet. The air was heavy, and nobody dared to speak.

" Please leave us. " - Said Olivia, looking at the ground. Everybody left the room, leaving the couple alone.

" Olivia, don't do this. " - The boy pleaded. - " Please. "

Olivia looked at Edmund, and then she looked at her hand, her Narnian engagement ring and the piece of wool wrapped around her finger.

" Edmund. I need to do this. For Narnia. " - She said, looking up at him. - " You know I am our best shot. "

Edmund bit his lip. - " Go with all you've got. " - He said, before smiling at his fiancée.It was hurting him, but he needed to be strong. For Olivia. He knew that girl better than he knew himself, and Olivia wasn't giving up on the idea.

" Thank you. " - She said, and leaned in and sealed their lips.

Edmund, Glenstorm and a giant whose name was unfamiliar to Olivia had come forth, and went to deliver Olivia's message to Miraz.

" I, Olivia, by the gift of Aslan, by election and by conquest, Queen of Narnia, leader of the Narnian army, Duchess of Zartar and empress of the lone islands, in order to prevent the inevitable effusion of blood, do hereby challenge the usurper Miraz to single combat upon the field of battle. The fight shall be to the death. The reward shall be of total surrender. " - Edmund read the letter written by Olivia with the assistance of Peter.

Normally, the Telmarines would have snickered. A damsel? Challenging the king to a fight? But she was no ordinary damsel, for Olivia's name was famous and feared through many countries due to her fearless mind and merciless atitudes in battle. This was a deathly damsel.

" Tell me, Prince Edmund, " - Miraz started speaking, but Edmund cut him off.

" King. " - The boy spoke.

" Pardon me? "

" It's king Edmund actually. Just king though. Peter's the high king. I know, it's confusing. " - Edmund explained. The Telmarines did not understand the logic behind Narnian royalty.

" Why would we risk such a proposal when our armies could wipe you out by nightfall? " - Asked Miraz.

" Haven't you already underestimated our numbers? I mean, only a week ago, Narnians were extinct. " - Defied the young king.

" And so you will be again. "

" Then you should have little to fear. "

Miraz laughed loudly. He was astounded by the proposal of this young boy.

" This is not a question of bravery. " - Spoke the man, with laughter still evident in his line.

" So you're bravely refusing to fight a damsel half your age? " - Asked the boy with a slight grin on his face.

" I didn't say I refused. " - Said Miraz as he leaned on the table.

" You have our support, your majesty. " - Spoke a lord from the left side of the table. - " Whatever your decision. "

" Sire, our military advantage alone provides the perfect excuse to avoid what might otherwise be- " - Started Speaking the lord called Sopespian, but Miraz suddenly stood up and grabbed his sword.

" I'm not avoiding anything! " - Yelled the man.

" I was merely pointing out that my lord is well within his rights to refuse. "

But, then, unexpectedly, the general of the Telmarine army spoke up and said: " His majesty would never refuse. He relishes the chance to show the people the courage of their new king. "

" You. " - Spoke Miraz as he pointed his sharp sword towards Edmund. - " You should hope your girlfriend's sword is sharper than her pen. "

" Here, Lu. " - Said Olivia as she adjusted Lucy's cloak.

" Thank you. " - Smiled Lucy, before she hopped on top of the non-talking horse and wrapped her arms around her sister's waist.

Caspian then adjusted the saddle. - " Destrier has always served me well. You are in good hands. "

" Or hooves. " - Joked Lucy, which only got a small laugh out of Olivia.

" Good luck. " - Said Caspian as he looked at the two Pevensie girls. Olivia then laid her hands on her hips.

" Thanks. " - Susan responded.

Caspian grabbed the horn he had used to call the kings and queens.

" Look. " - He said. - " Maybe it is time you had this back. " - He said, offering it to her.

" Why don't you hold on to it. You might need to call me again. " - Spoke the queen, and she took off with Lucy.

" You might need to call me again? " - Laughed Lucy as they were out of ears reach.

" Oh shut up. " - Laughed back at Susan.

Olivia then turned to Caspian, with her eyebrows raised.

" Someone's in loveeee- " - She taunted, mocking him.

" Shut up. " - Laughed Caspian as they walked back to the main area of the howl.

" Your children better be named after me. "
