" I'l take them off your hands. "

EDMUND AND CASPIAN SPENT THE NIGHT IN THE DUNGEONS. Their weapons had been taken away, and Caspian tried to break the bars of their cell with a small rock he had found.

" You all right? " - The king asked Edmund, who laid down in the dirt, utterly defeated as he thought about his sister and fiancée.

" Y-yeah. " - Edmund stuttered, raising his hand to his forehead and slowly hissing as he sat up.

Caspian had lost his rock, so he simply kicked the bars. Edmund got up, and looked at the king trying to escape.

" It's hopeless. You'll never get out. " - Spoke a voice from the back of the cell. Startled, Caspian stopped kicking the bars. None of the two boys realised that there was somebody in the room.

" Who's there? " - Edmund asked.

" Nobody. Just a voice in my head... "

The Telmarine walked forward, and was met with the face of an old man with a long beard. He was vaguely familiar, and Caspian was trying to figure out who he was. The elderly looked at Caspian with his mouth slightly open, confused and shocked.

" Lord Bern? " - Asked the king.

The lord was caught by surprise. - " Perhaps once. " - He said. - " but I'm no longer deserving of that title. "

" Is he one of the seven? " - Asked Edmund from the other back of the room. Caspian nodded at him.

The king crouched down next to the so-called lord Bern. - " Your face. You remind me of a king I once loved well. " - Signed the elderly.

" That man was my father. " - Caspian declared.

Lord Bern was taken aback for a split moment. His breathing trembled and his voice faltered as he said: " Oh, my lord. Please, forgive me. " - He tried to make a bow, but Caspian stopped him and asked him not to.

As the scene passed, Edmund climbed on top of a few rocks, until he managed to get a clear view from the only window in the cell.

The people were shouting in the background. Today, another boat would be sent to the mist, packed with those who lived on this island. A heart breaking scene was the one of the man and a woman running after the carriage that carried some people in chains. The girl called for her mum, who was in chains and crying. The man, who was her husband and father of the child was thrown to the ground and he yelled:

" Don't worry! I'll find you! "

Eustace, Lucy and Olivia watched the scene develop with wide eyes as they were trapped against the grey walls with chains balled around their necks and hands.

Caspian had joined Edmund's side, and watched as the slave traders threw the people in boats that were on the docks. " Where are they taking them? " - Caspian asked the lord who shared the cell. " Keep watching. " - He warned.
