Chapter 20🌙

"No, we're just friends."

Nari frowned.

"Come onnnnn don't you feel a little something something for him?" She pressed, getting impatient.

"...We should go, Katsuki and your sister are probably already on the ice by now." Shoto avoided the question and made his way to the rink.

Nari just sighed and shook her head. Something was off about Kazumi's reaction.

As soon as Shoto took a step on the ice he felt a sense of freedom he could only experience here.

He slid onto the side of the gate, allowing the black-haired girl to enter as well. As soon as she did he bid her farewell.

"What?"

"Go hang out with the others. I'm not very interesting, besides I have stuff to do." He explained simply, already starting to glide away from her.

Nari shrugged and using the barrier to support herself, she skated over to where she spotted her sister.

Shoto inhaled and exhaled deeply.

(A/N: I googled some ice skating tricks, sorry if it doesn't make sense but trust me it's better than if I tried to describe them😭)

He sped off into the middle of the rink, he began gliding gracefully then slowly started to gain speed. He skated around the rink a few times before doing some tricks.

He started with a layback spin, before letting go and doing some axel jumps. He followed that up with a sit spin, and a flip jump.

Shoto regretted not bringing headphones, it's more fun when you've got music playing.

He continued doing some tricks here and there but mainly just enjoyed the feeling of being on the ice.

On the other side of the rink, Nari, Kara, and Bakugo were standing in shock. How was he so good?

Kara felt jealousy and rage bubble up in her gut. That little bitch was practically perfect in every way! There's no way Katsuki wouldn't choose him over her. She had to do something.

She skated over to Kazumi, who was not paying attention.

"Hey! Katsuki! Look!" She started spinning, slowly but soon lost control and bumped into Shoto.

The boy fell down while she managed to regain her balance.

"Ugh watch where you're going! If you weren't trying to be such a show off you wouldn't have bumped into me!" She yelled.

Kazumi just stared at her in shock and got up.

Bakugo and Nari rushed over to the others.

"Hey, Icy, you ok? You fell pretty hard, again." Katsuki asked.

"I'm ok Katsuki, thank you though." Shoto glared at Kara.

"Dude! What the fuck! Why would you deliberately put yourself in Kazumi's path?" Nari scolded her sister. The brunette just pouted and skated away. Her sister following. Leaving the boys alone.

Shoto extended his hand to Katsuki.

"Come on, didn't you say you were better than me?" He grinned, watching the other's face become pale.

"Y-Yeah...ok let's go." They skated around for a bit, Bakugo was better than a beginner obviously but no way in hell could he attempt those tricks.

"It's no fun if you're just skating, do something! Aren't you the best?" Kazumi questioned innocently.

"I am!"

He took a deep breath and tried to recreate a move he saw the younger do. And well, that ended about as well as you'd expect.

He fell flat on his ass.

Shoto snorted, and helped the blond get up.

"Don't say anything."

"Wasn't planning on it Katsuki."

They enjoyed each other's presence for a bit longer until the girls returned, Kara having calmed down a bit from her earlier outburst.

"Hey Kazumi...just wanted to say sorry for earlier..." She feigned an ashamed look.

"It's fine. I wasn't hurt." He said curtly.

"Great now let's skate some more!" The youngest of the group skated off.

The remaining trio followed her.

During that time, Bakugo slowly started to remember why he fell in love with Kara in the first place. When she wasn't a bitch, she was actually really sweet and funny.

He ended up having a great time.

But somewhere in the back of his mind, the image of a certain boy was still present.
