Chapter60: A special guest

"And what about this one?" Penny asked me, holding up this black and white checkered Mesh bodycon T-shirt. Smiling excitedly at the new clothes that she bought after emptying a quarter of her closest to charity.

Which was something that she, the girls, and I got into today since we had nothing else to do at 11 am. This was something that none of us planned on doing.
Most of us were on our phones, looking at pictures of clothes and outfits that we'd only worn once or twice. So, we piled up what we want to keep and what we don't want to keep anymore. And then gave those clothes to three charities that we chose.

Smiling at her, nodding my head for the fifth or sixth time for almost every item of clothing that I'd already seen in the shop. After the charities, we all went shopping for new clothes. And yes, I let the girls buy me some dresses, skirts and other clothes.
However, I was allowed to buy clothes of my liking. And when Nike and Jumpman stores had a 50% sale, I started enjoying the shopping.

Before she could pick up another item of clothing that I'd already seen in the shop, Charlie knocked on our dorm room door. Walking in while wearing one of her new tops with David following behind, "Ohhh, I love that top."

Her sunshine smile brightens the room with the confidence boost that she got. Her juniper green crop top with golden chains printed on was a fire top, "Thank you, darling. Very cute top."

Smiling brighter as she kept whichever top against her chest, "Thank you, Charlie. At least you said something."

"I watched you buy the damn top, Peyton," I said, playfully narrowing my eyes toward her. This is the third time she has been complaining about me not saying much about almost every piece of clothing that she'd shown me. "Isn't it pointless to ask me what I think about them if I was with you shopping today?"

Giving me a 'duh' expression before saying as David dropped onto my bed, "It's not pointless. It's helpful for my roommate to tell me which clothes are cute or not. So, whenever I plan to go out, I know what to wear."

I crossed my eyebrows together, trying to make any sense of what Penny just said. Meantime, David stared at the top in her hands with a blank expression, "The top's alright for a date with Ryan."

"You see." Penny excluded almost frustratedly while raising her hand towards him. "One thought on my clothes, that's all I'm asking for."

Turning to face the smirking Australian who was enjoying this more than he should have. His eyes brighter with mischief and playfulness, "Yeah Ariel, all she's asking for is one thought on her clothes."

"Your death will be painful and long." I deadpanned, giving him a pensive expression which he only smiled at.

That beautiful, rare smile of his.
Which caused me to believe that he knows as well as I do, that I could never be able to harm him. Even if I wanted to, I just couldn't.

Before wrapping his arm over my chest and the other under my back. Laying his head on top of my shoulder for a hug, which I raised my arm for, "Hi Ariel."

"Hi David," I greeted him, dropping my serious expression. Enjoying this closeness between the two of us for some reason. Yet, I kept this and all the other thoughts that I've been getting lately to myself. Not sharing or showing any of them to him or anyone else. Especially Penny of all people.

Pushing them all away as I let go of him, turning to Charlotte, who was now standing beside my bed. Have already hugged Penny, now smiling at me. Opening my arms for her, "Hello again, beautiful."

"Hello again, gorgeous." She said as she hugged me, then made room for her on my bed. Then, she hugged me again as I lay on my side.

As Charlie hugged me, David wrapped his arms around my stomach to hug me from behind. While the three of us stayed like this for a couple of seconds, having him laying behind me was causing me to be filled up with butterflies. Butterflies that I'd never gotten from him when we slept in his bed that one night, in the same position until now. Why is that?
