Just as quick as the weekend came, it also ended very quickly too, but they were filled with good times and lot of fun. My Sunday was spent working at the café which was good and bad, the bad part was that I had to bite my tongue for customers who were in bad moods and take it out on me. But the good part was that I got a large tip out of it somehow which I rather not ask how or why.
When my alarm went off to remind me that it's Monday again, I nearly broke my phone since it was the beginning of a new week. Until I saw the date being the 27th May, which means that Haylie's coming back home from her trip to Paris, and for the first time ever, I was in a happy mood on a Monday. Everyone notice it, even David and Ryan when we were sitting in English, I wasn't nearly bothered with them poking or teasing me during half of the lecture. Almost.
"When are you two gonna stop poking me." I scowled softly for both to hear when they decided to poke me on either sides at the same time. This is what I have to deal with every time English lectures would take place Monday, Wednesday late afternoon and Thursday, always the two teasing me with their poking, trickling and kicking my chair's legs.
And like always, the two would pretend that they weren't doing anything at all, Ryan whispered innocently to me, "We're not doing anything, Jennie. Stop blaming us for things we're not doing."I was starting to regret my choice of wearing a hoodie and not a jacket as I tried covering my sides with my hands. As I could while Professor Josephine asked a question based on the chapters 4 and 5 of Lenique Sachet's novel.
I don't know how I was so focus on the screen that I didn't hearing, "Ms, are you getting cold over there?"The question made me blink my eyes to see Professor Josephine asking me from how I was tightly holding myself to avoid getting poked, loosening my arms and placing my hands on my desk as I answered, "No Professor, I'm not."
Professor Josephine is a Canadian with a British accent, saying with a smile that didn't almost feel real to me, "Well since you're not cold or warm, would you mind telling us briefly what the main plot of chapter 5 is?" That's a weird way of asking a question.
I never liked being ask to answer questions in class for whatever reason or subject, because most of those times I have to go through idiots teasing me in a hurtful way.
That I didn't want to answer any question that any teacher would ask me. But I've been reading the novel from last week Monday and was already at chapter 25 out of 50, I could answer the question without a sweat. I just didn't want to, though I kinda didn't have much of a choice. With nearly everyone looking at me and waiting to hear my answer, I kept my eyes on the screen in front.
Taking a deep breath before sitting up straight as I answered Professor Josephine's question, "In chapter 5, Mandy has arrived in Seattle with a few hundred of cash, clothes and a shattered heart. Leaving San Francisco for a new start, it started off rocky when she gets robbed at gun point in a sucky motel which is the last place that she would personally want to die in. Going to report the incident to a police officer whom she describes as a swollen toad who cares nothing more than his ribbiting and power. Leaving the motel to sleep in her car behind another one before getting a job as a cashier at a local bookstore and got to stay in the store owner's guest house. The main plot of this chapter is that Mandy had managed to take care of herself without her ex-boyfriend helping her whom she had depended on before."I rarely answer any questions in middle and high school, always like to be the quiet one who seems shy and like to be by herself until she's with her friends and family.
There were some people listening as I was speaking, taking notes as I talk even Professor Josephine seemed impressed by what I've said, "Well answered Ms. . .""Jennifer, Professor Josephine." I said quickly, hoping that I don't have to answer any other questions for the last few minutes of the lecture.
There were only five minutes left, the time was running slowly for a Monday which isn't a surprise since it and Monday as best of friends. Teasing humans by running fast when we're having a good time before deciding to take things 'easy' by slowing down when we're nearly bursting in tears from boredom. Professor Josephine smiled again with the same one as before, crossing her arms when asking, "May I ask for your full name?"
