"Just where do you think you are going, Pookie?" Sean asked spotting Mia heading for the front door the following day.

"Um, the hospital?" She asked confused.

"No," he shook his head. "You are still recovering."

"But I feel fine," she pouted. "I don't have a headache and the bruise is gone. I feel absolutely fine, Dr. Green. Besides you know the ER will need me."

"Nope," he smirked. "You need to rest for at least today. If you still feel okay tomorrow then I will let you go back to work."

"But—"

"Mia..."

She turned to see Owen standing at the foot of the stairs. "Daddy," she pouted. "I want to work."

"What did Dr. Green say?" he asked as he straightened his tie.

"But Daddy..." she pouted. "I feel fine."

"So he said no?" Owen asked raising his eyebrow.

"Owen, I feel perfectly fine," Mia sighed in annoyance. "I think I should be able to determine if I am well enough to go back to work." She crossed her arms over her chest as she shifted her weight to her left leg. "I know my body better than anyone else."

"Excuse me?" Owen asked as he came to stand in front of her. "Care to repeat that?"

"You know what I mean Owen," she sighed heavily. "I just want to go to work. I need to work."

Owen lifted her chin so she was forced to look at him. "You NEED to heal and in order for you to heal you must stay home and rest. Your body is NOT ready for so much work just yet. And if you EVER question my knowledge of all of you ever again, you will regret it, understood?"

She trembled slightly at the seriousness in his tone, "I'm sorry, Daddy," she whispered.

He stared her down while remaining firm on his grip of her face, "I know this is hard for you, Darling, but we are just looking out for your wellbeing, both mentally and physically."

"I know I get it I do," she sighed, "but I know my body and mind as well since it is mine after all."

"You are MINE," Owen growled, "do I need to remind you?"

"You don't have the time," she seethed as she yanked her head free. "But fine, I'll stay here and be a good little girl and NOT save lives just to make you happy, Mr. Blackbourne."

"Sean, call my receptionist and reschedule all my meetings," Owen said while staring Mia down. "I need to have a discussion with my fiancé."

"No you don't," she shook her head. "You need to go to work and handle all your meetings. You can have your "discussion" with me when you are done working. I'll still be here since you and your family refuse to let me leave "for my own good" as you say, even though I feel perfectly fine. But what do I know?" she rolled her eyes. "It's just MY body and mind after all."

"Mia..." Owen warned as he straightened his tie.

"Mr. Blackbourne..." she threw back angrily.

"I'm sorry Owen," Sean shook his head. "But she said you have three meetings that have already been rescheduled twice and can't be done again or you will lose the clients."

Owen growled and clenched his teeth before pointing a finger at Mia, "I will be home as soon as I can then you and I are going to have a serious discussion about your attitude right now."

"Yeah, yeah, I know," she rolled her eyes. "Have a good day at work, Dear," she said sarcastically while smiling so sweet at him.

"You sure know how to push his buttons, Pookie," Sean chuckled once the door was shut. "I have to admit, I love seeing this bratty side of you. It's so adorable."

"Yeah, whatever," she scoffed as she headed back to the bedroom. She knew she was in trouble but at this moment she really didn't care. She was so frustrated that she couldn't go to work. Why was no one listening to her that she felt fine??? She knew her body and she was okay, she wanted to go to work and help save lives and it was frustrating that they weren't trusting her! She knew she could just leave, she wasn't actually being held hostage but she didn't want to really piss Owen off to that point.

Sighing angrily, she plopped down on the bed and groaned as she wove her fingers into her hair and placed her elbows on her knees. She understood where they were coming from but they also should trust her to know herself and her limits. Maybe she could explain herself better once Owen got home form work and he could see where she was coming from and she could just go to work tomorrow or later tonight, she had no problem working a night shift after all. Yeah that is what she would do, she would have a serious conversation with him then go to work tonight. That meant she needed to get some sleep now so she would be well rested for tonight. Getting comfortable on the bed, she turned on the TV and became lost in a vet show.

After some time, she began to get hungry. She glanced at the clock and was shocked to see it was almost two in the afternoon. She headed to the kitchen and found it empty. She opened the fridge and pulled out the butter and sliced cheese. Finding the bread and a pan, she started making herself a grilled cheese sandwich.

Just as she was putting the slices together she messed up a little and the bread tore slightly, causing some cheese to melt out. The door flung open suddenly, startling her. "STUPID FUCKING PIECE OF NO GOOD SHIT! GODDAMN IDIOT!" Gabriel shouted as he stormed into the room and flung the fridge open in frustration.

Mia dropped the spatula, quickly turned off the stove and rushed out of the room while gasping, on the verge of a panic attack. She locked the bedroom door behind her and tried to ignore all the voices coming at her from everywhere it seemed. Her lungs burned as she wiped the tears from her face while she grabbed her bag and crawled out of the window. Climbing down the tree, she hurried to Owen's car, got in and sped away from all the anger. She had to get to safety and that meant only one place for her.
