It has been a week since the start of classes in Cloud Recesses. Lan Wangji was in the library working on one of his assignments that was to be due the next day. Wei Wuxian was in the back of the library reading a book on charms and talismans. He was using that time to keep his mind busy. More and more, his dreams had been consuming him. He saw a dream where blood filled so many places within Lotus Pier and he saw his adopted parents dead. Upon seeing that memory again in his head, he put the book away and needed to talk to someone. He remembered that Lan Xichen had offered to go to him if he needed anything. His eyes filled with tears, he came out of the back of the library and not watching where he was walking, he tripped over someone and fell on the ground. He sobbed harder and slammed his fist to the ground.

"Are you okay?" A calm, but deep baritone voice rang out into Wuxian's ears.

Wuxian just shook his head as he tried to get up but only managed to sit up. He couldn't stand properly so he had to calm down first.

"Wei Ying, what is wrong?" the familiar deep voice asked.

"So much pain," Wuxian said shaking his head and placed his hand over his chest, "I...can barely...breathe."

Lan Wangji sprung into action and scooped the young man into his arms and carried him out of the library and to the infirmary. Wei Wuxian didn't say anything more as his face was shoved into Wangji's shoulder. Lan Xichen saw his brother walking into the infirmary with someone in his arms and he got worried so he followed behind.

"Wangji?" Xichen asked as he saw it was Wei Wuxian in his arms as Wangji laid him down on the bed in the infirmary, "What happened?"

"He said he was in pain, and held his chest," Wangji said, "He was crying and tripped over me as he was leaving the library. I don't think he knew I was there."

Lan Xichen looked down at Wuxian who was passed out on the bed, "Did he say anything else?"

"No, I got worried when he said he was in pain so I carried him here. He passed out on the way over," Wangji explained.

"Can you find his siblings and tell them that Wuxian is here? I will talk with the healers," Xichen said.

Wangji was hesitant to leave as he looked down at Wuxian, "alright," he said and was about to leave when Xichen stopped him.

"Actually, I will handle everything, just stay here with him, okay," Xichen said.

Wangji nodded and sat down on a chair beside the bed. Lan Xichen then left, asking the healer just to check over Wuxian, check his vitals and such. He then left to find his siblings. He found Yanli talking with some classmates.

"Jiang Guniang," Zewu Jun greeted.

"Hello Zewu Jun," she said.

"Can I speak with you?" He asked.

"Sure," She said and stepped aside with him, "Is everything alright?"

"I just want you to know that Wangji is with him but Wuxian is in the infirmary," Xichen told her.

"What happened?" She asked concerned.

"Wangji told me that Wuxian said he was in pain and had his hand over his chest," Xichen explained, "He was upset about something leaving the library. He didn't see my brother there and tripped over him. He didn't get hurt from that, but Wangji brought him to the infirmary because he worried when Wuxian said he was in pain."

"Thank you for letting me know," She said.

Lan Xichen nodded and led her to the infirmary, "Your brother Jiang Cheng?"

"He went into town with Nie Huaisang," Yanli said, "I will speak with him about this after."

"Alright," Xichen said.

When they reached Wuxian's room, they saw Wangji leaning over and brushing his fingers through Wuxian's hair, as if he was trying to soothe him. Lan Xichen smiled. Yanli giggled, which caused Wangji to jump in his seat. His ears turning pink he saw it was just his brother and Wuxian's sister, and went back to what he was doing.

"Thank you for comforting my brother, Lan-Er-Gonzi," Yanli said.

"Mnn," he nodded, "please call me Wangji."

"Alright, I will call you Wangji," she said, "has he woken up?"

"No," he shook his head, "he was starting to cry in his sleep, so I just tried to soothe him. He seems to be okay with what I'm doing."

"He usually liked it when someone runs their fingers through his hair," Yanli said, "it lets him know that there is someone with him he can trust."

"The healer said the pain has subsided and he was a bit low on energy," Wangji said.

"He must not be sleeping well," Yanli said.

"Xiongzhang, did you speak with Shufu about my suggestion?" Wangji asked.

"He agreed to have Wuxian room with you, but he disagreed with allowing Jasmine," Xichen replied.

"You tried to allow to have Jasmine come here?" Yanli asked.

"It was Wangji's idea, and the dog and Wuxian would stay at the Jingshi so that the dog wouldn't interfere with other people's studies," Xichen explained, "but Wuxian is currently rooming with Jiang Cheng, Jin Zixuan, and Nie Huaisang, correct?"

"Yes," Yanli confirmed.

"If Wuxian agrees, he could room with Wangji as Wangji was the one to suggest it. It might help Wuxian sleep better," Xichen explained.

"We can try," Yanli said, "I thought maybe his nightmares were done with but they came back since being here."

"Is it really because Jasmine is not here or because it is because of something else?" Xichen asked.

"What do you mean?" Yanli asked.

"Wuxian told me about one of his dreams...one where he was falling from very high up. He was engulfed by resentment and when he hit the ground he woke up," Xichen told her.

"He had that dream again?" Yanli asked.

"He's had it a couple times hasn't he?"

"Yes, I try to get him to tell me what his dreams were, no matter how bad they are. I felt if he talked about them he'd feel a bit better," Yanli said.

Lan Wangji was only listening to them talk. He was feeling a bit heavy and his chest started hurting. Wangji placed his hand on his chest, "Xiongzhang, I don't feel well."

Lan Xichen looked at his brother. Lan Wangji grew pale. He then took Wangji and had him rest in another room of the infirmary. Soon enough, both he and Wuxian were unconscious. Lan Xichen and Yanli now grew worried. They didn't know what was happening to their brothers.
